I'd like them to at least scan all the delivery confirmations that we pay for. If they have to cut service down to 5 days to make sure they do their job properly, I can deal with it.

I work for the Post Office..... Hope it does not happen.... Mail has slowed way down though compared to years past and the economy is not helping with businesses sending out less and less.....

why does the extra day have to be saturday? make it wednesday if it has to happen

Because 99.9% of businesses operate Monday through Friday.

Have to give the Post Master General credit. Atleast he came up with a plan that didn't involve asking the government for a hand out.

Raise rates and keep saturday delivery.

Get a bailout, everyone else is doing it.

Or better yet, follow the conservative blueprint and let them fail, that would teach them a lesson...

I was being honest. If the money is there you can't blame them.

I wasn't being conservative at all.

I also don't blame either party for the problems that businesses that are poorly run have in their balance sheet.

That may be true, but if they cut out Saturday, the people who work Monday through Friday, wouldn't be shipping as much stuff, so the Post Office would still be losing money.

I'm sure that individuals are a very tiny percentage of the USPS' revenues. Most of their business comes from companies shipping products/bills/advertisements.
