UW Mail Week w/ a nice Jake Locker!

Got a ton of PC cards from COMC for about $5.00, w/ only one shown here. Gotta love finding old base cards for only .25!

Been looking for the Mason Foster UD Auto, so I gotta give some love to Guru on here for that one. The old school card is Bob Schloredt... a former QB at UW that was blind in one eye, yet was the MVP of 2 Rose Bowl victories at the UW his final years. Great story and a must pick up. The Hugh McElhenny wasn't the one I wanted most, but after getting it, I'm glad I did. The colors are perfect for a UW PC and it's a great looking card!

Jake Locker Sweet Spot #'d 4/5 Rivalries Booklet w/ Drew Bledsoe - Apple Cup (my game!)

The seller posted it at 11:40 PM PT and only a 1 day auction? No matter, I stayed up late to get this one. It has 2 creases next to the helmet on the Locker, and I doubt UD is going to do anything about the card... but it's 4/5 and very rare, so I don't care. I don't want to risk sending it in and never getting it back, because this is a big time card for the state of washington. Collection is flying along, w/ only a bunch of tough cards to find.

Thanks on the Locker props. I'm really happy w/ the card, as any scan doesn't do it justice. The card means a lot to me, as the Apple Cup holds a special place. Plus, it has a decent Coog signature on it... gotta give Bledsoe props.

Bruener, I actually picked up after I thought I found the card I needed for my PC. I realized there was one out there w/ him in his UW gear and an auto, so I had to set aside my sweet Autographics for this one. Those 2 tight ends (Conwell and Bruener) were beasts!!

I'm shocked there aren't more Locker Sweet Spot helmets out there, as I still need that one.

My Locker needs;
1. UD Ultimate Auto
2. UD Letterman
3. Sweet Spot Helmet Card
4. Inception auto's #d>25 (I know they are out there, just haven't seen any... jersey or regular) Love the card, but don't need the huge price tag that goes with it. Has anyone seen one yet?

I am going to ask a completely stupid question...did you ever play semi-pro football?

EDIT: like maybe...as an addition for a playoff game...against the King County Jaguars?

outside of the of the atc auto /25 that shi guy grabbed I have not seen. All the others only seen on ebay. Those prices on the ruby reds andsilver signings are probably gonna be solid for a long time. A couple on here are doing silver signings sets

Nah, didn't make semi-pro... too many injuries and never had the interest. Was asked recently, but passed it up. My hands are great, but my speed went the other direction when the knees didn't cooperate. haha

Yea, shiguy and I chat quite a bit. Based on what I've seen from Beckett, they say they exist. Maybe Topps just delayed putting them in cases? I'd like to go after as much as ShiGuy picks up, but it's outside of my PC and anything I pick up outside of my PC... I'm pretty picky.

I love that Silver Auto... beautiful! I may have to pony up the cash one day and snag it. Probably will need to do it quick, as Jake is acting like he wants to be a badarse QB in the NFL. haha

OK only reason I asked was because back in 2006, my semi-pro team played a team from Oregon in the league championship. They tried stacking their roster with guys that were never on the team previously. One of the guys was a Defensive end who wore number 91. That guy made my job really facking hard the whole night. Oddly enough back when that league was still in existence they had a forum and that guy signed up. His username was uw91.

We won the game but holy crap, I have never worked so hard in my life on the field trying to keep #91 out of the backfield. I later learned the guy had played college ball and I believe it was at UW.

Made me feel better knowing I was able to hold my own against a college D-end :lol:

Just noticed another one of the booklets was posted, and to think I wasn't going to say how rare of a card I picked up that I wouldn't see one again. I knew that as soon as I thought about it being rare, another was going to show up. Ughhh. Oh well.

I spent all day with the woman and now I'm late to the party! Nice pickups! Glad to see that the dual auto made it to you safe and sound.

I'm still keeping an eye out for another Ultimate auto. There's another Letterman on ebay, but it looks like the recent scarcity has caused the prices to go up a bit. I haven't seen any SS helmet autos since the first 5 or so were posted, but I'm sure there will be more eventually. I think the lack of an NFL license is making UD products a slow mover this year, especially after the new product appeal wears off.

I saw that Letterman hit and I tossed a bid on it so that I could get the one click going. It then jumped up to $26. Ughhh. Still pissed I missed the one that was miscategorized!

I doubt that UD Ultimate will be coming around any time soon. Though, as soon as I thought about how rare the UW/WSU booklet was... another appeared on ebay. haha

I think SP Authentic will be the next stuff I break, as I'm done with Topps and their horrible values. I almost want to continue breaking 2011 UD regular, as that stuff has continued to produce good value and return.
