Valentine's Day at the romantic Houston Tristar Show

I'm excited to return to Houston for the only big show left in Texas, and one I usually do pretty well at. Last year I came within spitting distance of completing my 55 Bowman set, which I finished off a few days later. My girlfriend will be with me again, a grizzled hobby veteran now rather than the doe-eyed noob she was last year. Having it on Valentine's day could become a nice tradition for us, although it does mean my card budget has been drastically reduced because as much as she likes opening boxes of Topps Finest, she hinted that she'd prefer opening a Tiffany box. I'm tempted to get her a Topps Tiffany set, but might save that joke for later years. Or maybe I could put the jewelry inside a Topps Tiffany set box. Yeah, that'd work.

Anyway, if you're going, good luck finding what you need. If you're a dealer, put out your best Jim Kelly cards and she'll scoop them up. And your best Frank Thomases, Grady Sizemores, and 2011 Topps Marquee Museums.

I would say there's too many collectors and not enough available. Demand remains high but nobody's selling so there's not enough trading hands to be technically be considered "hot" unless I'm completely mistaken. Gorgeous cards

I live 4 miles outside of the city limits, but never go to the show. I should one of these days.

I bought 19 Valentine cards. 18 Ellis, Bobby, and Jack, and filled up a 9-pocket page. I also got a Corky from 55T, put it in an 8-pocket sheet, and will fill in the rest of the pockets with love notes. But the Roses thing is good. I'll do that next year.
