My son tripped and hit his head on a sunglass rack at the grocery store and so I spent four hours at the ER getting 5 stitches on a terrified 2-year old. At least he seems fine now. Frustrating part is it took 2 hours to fix, then 2 hours of waiting for the doctor to file paperwork.

Plus, I was runner-up tonight on 2 eBay auctions I really would have liked to win for my player collections. Both items I thought my snipe would be more than enough. Pisser.

End rant.

On the good side, you have a son who loves his dad for taking care of him. That's a win for the night I'd say.

They are good boys. Cooper is on the right, he took the header tonight. With the stitches and the shiner he got with it, he looks like a hockey player now. Brother Connor on the left.

 I was thinking the same thing. But its for the parents. It'd be cool to have a pic like that for my daughter and son.

Sorry to hear about your rough day. I'm glad your son is alright!

And I was thinking the same as you... how cool would it be to have two boys, and have that awesome picture. I love it!

Maybe it was good that you lost the auctions to help pay for the ER....

-OR-

Maybe you're going to sue the grocery store and should have bid higher.

Either way... I hope Cooper feels better soon!

Give him a :grouphug: from FCB!!!

That is frustrating. One of my sous-chefs cut himself about a month ago at 4pm. I went over about an hour later to do the insurance stuff and he went through the triage nurse area. He got out just past midnight. Like 12 stitches and an x-ray, 8 hours :|

Ha, You guys are right about that photo. My wife took them in April and got me some shots of them in their Cubs shirts for my birthday. There are better ones!

And what a difference a day makes! There was a 1962 Jello Don Zimmer on eBay this morning with a decent BIN that I grabbed. He was an SP that year, so tough card. It was one of two vintage Zims I had left to find, so it makes up for yesterday's losses big time!

I've got a 21-month old and can understand where you're coming from. I'm just glad the kid is going to be alright.

I won't even go into parent mode as everyone else has already covered it.

Moving into shark mode -- have you contacted the grocery store in regard to your bills? Why did he trip? At a minimum, they should cover the ER bill your insurance doesn't cover -- at a maximum.... well, can you say free groceries for life? :)

Seriously, no grocery store wants bad PR in regard to a 2 year old...

glad to hear he is doing well. a couple of stiches never hurt anyone, plus in a few years he can impress the ladies remember chicks dig scars...

but please, please do not bog down our already litigious society with taking the store to court, just talk to them first about helping with the bills if he did fall because of their negligence, lawyers are worthless...

My kid tripped over his own feet. My wife was with him and saw the whole thing. The display wasn't dangerous, it had rounded corners and wasn't out of place / protruding into an aisle.

I hate people that don't take responsibility for their own actions and blame everyone else, trying to make a buck. I don't blame the store. I don't want their money for an accident for which they had no liability. I'm totally at the opposite spectrum of thought than Jeff N., and really that type of thinking makes me mad. I have good insurance, but my premiums keep going up each year and I'm sure some of that is the cost of lawsuit settlements from people that don't deserve them just because a lawyer convinces them they can get some money for them.

Reading his reply just brings to mind the old joke "You know what they call 100 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start."

At least you didn't miss out on a perfect game by one out and a bad call.

Hope the little guy is doing well.

good for you. it bothers me when people try this crap, trying to pin blame when something things are just fate.

the one that pisses me off is the retard who sued McDonalds for getting barely burnt by hot coffee. I would seriously like to take them to an oven like they used in the Holocaust and make them slowly burn, listening to their every scream.....

..but I wont, because Id probably be sued
