I'm going with gehrig due to the Yankee effect. However I agree with homerun28aa that the five star is a better design.

I'm crossing my fingers I can land the cobb tonight :)

Best of luck bud, I just can't see it going much higher than it is now I'm very confident you'll get it. :p

Not surprising that one bidder has the current high on both the Gehrig and Cobb, it's just such a good chance for someone with deep pockets to pick those up I don't think you'll have this good of a chance to get two amazing knobs like that at once in the future.

The cobb just jumped to 4371

What we really should have done on this board is have a pool where everyone enters the final bid of each of the knobs probstein is auctioning and sends $10 paypal to Tim. At the end, we could have compiled the total $ value that people were off and the person with the lowest $ value off from the total would win the money in the pool. Too late to do now, but I think that would be pretty fun.

Although that may actually be against the board rules since it's a form of gambling.

Have you seen any other ozzie Padres letters from this set before? also is your 2002 wilhelm from a sleeve patch or something? Looks way cool!

I have not seen the other letters from Ozzie, could possibly still be in packs.

And you don't think there would be anything I'd have to pry that from your hands, Tony. *bats eyes*

Don't worry Adam, I have a small list of cards with your name on them should I decide to let go. You'll be the first person I come too :)

Here is my Honus and Thorpe. Funny thing on Thorpe was I was the second bidder on the button card that ended north of 2700 last year and at the time I wish I would have went higher. Now with the findings ( I still don't fully trust the writer of the story as he's a fraud himself) I'm glad I dint win it as 2700 is too much considering it may not be thorpes jersey.

great stuff once again:)

on the thorpe thing I'm actually hoping to pick up a couple more patches even if they aren't his. They still are basically 100 year old awesome looking patches!

think there is more honus Wagner material left to make patches? Did it all get used up in 2008 sterling?

thanks for the back scan of the wilhelm

And since we were talking about Bird heads days ago, I have picked up a hand full over the years as they are pretty rare. First one is not bird head but rather bird beak

I would also pick up the button but not if I have to pay 2700, lol. I also love the look of them and age and only reason I don't have more is they don't pop up often. I went after these late when they were all dried up and I was luck to get the one I have. I expect to see more pop up randomly now that the story came out. Yes they more than likely used up the supply of Thorpe jersey especially the patches. I know I saw a couple of 2008 colossal Thorpe patches that had a lot of patch.

These cards are a un-listed small complete set that came out of fleer in 2001. The set is called final cut, and the cards are made as a secondary set that followed the legendary 2000 fleer classic clippings. After they made that set they took the left over prime pieces and made very limited final cuts set with patch and tag pieces. According to a fleet representative they made a few cards then pulled the rest of the production because they wanted to preserve the material for future use. The fleer representative told me their were only 2 or 3 copies of the Munson and Larsen and 8-10 copies of the others. To my knowledge I have never seen another Munson or Larsen surface and I have just seen 1 or 2 others in ten plus years.

hope you enjoy them:)

Munson, righetti, Randolph, Guidry, jackson, and the ultra rare don Larsen tag

What is your oponion? Or others oponion on what the material is from the honus Wagner sterling patches? Striping from a pair of pants? Also do you think all of the Wagner patch has been used up?
