Vintage and hall of fame patches

I must be missing something because all the cards say either prime or laundry tag on them.

I'm unfamiliar with the details and history of this set mostly because Mariano isn't in it. But I like knowing as much as I can on fakes.

The first thing you want to do is research what years the said player played for the said them. Then figure out what the logo patch is and see if it matches up. Some of these dont.

Think these "Prime" home and away swatches are patch pieces, maybe from Yogi's number, and not just jersey pieces? There's not much else on a vintage Yankees jersey that could be all black, right?

Yep, in hand they are the very dark blue felt of Yankee patches. Supposedly, one is from home jersey and one from an away jersey.

What was weird is card #2 /5 is on eBay, but has jersey pieces instead of patch pieces, but is still "prime." Guess they're counting the pinstripe?
