Re: Orioles agree to 1 year deal worth $8 million with Vlad!

I see a lineup like this:

2B - Brian Roberts
RF - Nick Markakis
1B - Derrek Lee
DH - Vlad Guerrero
LF - Luke Scott
CF - Adam Jones
3B - Mark Reynolds
C - Matt Wieters
SS - JJ Hardy

Jones, Reynolds, Wieters can be move around according to how they are hitting...

If the pitching does as well as it did when Buck showed up, I'm calling a 3rd place finish!

As a huge Vlad Guerrero fan this is disappointing. No offence to the Orioles fans but i was hoping he could finish his career with a team that would be considered a contender.

I wanted him to stay with Texas because I hate when players of his caliber bounce around at the end of their careers.

No offense taken. No expectations either. Lee and Vlad are not the long-term answers. We have them for 1 year. And having them for one year to rub off their veteran presence.

Should be a fun year either way.

Oh it will definitely be a fun year for you guys if nothing more than having a true MLB legend in your line up. You guys have gone through so many rough years as of late, so hopefully these additions will at least give you guys something to get excited about anyways.

Good move for the O's and their fans. They actually have something to get excited about coming into Spring Training. Looks like they are putting together an offense that will score a few runs. Probably going to sneek up on a few teams this year.

A significant portion of Guerrero's $8MM salary is deferred, a source tells Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Interesting...

I said the same thing. I also agree with G$money$ in that I wanted him with a contender. I accually would'nt of minded him going back to the Angels. I was a somewhat disappointed to hear he was officially signed by the O's but like what was said yesterday It will not affect his Hof candidacy. With that said I will be following the O's this year :) . Lets hope they play very well because you never know what could happen. Having Vlad in that lineup is only going to help and now its on the Pitchers.

I'm loving it!

Hitters park and a nice looking lineup!

Here's to hoping Vlad repeats or exceeds this years numbers (.300, 29hr, led the Rangers with 115 rbi, went to WS... not to mention All-Star, E-Mart Award for best DH, and Silver Slugger), I'd really like to see him play a few years in Baltimore, unlike Texas not rewarding him.

Let's go O's!
