Where do you see it at?

Ebay 120524135002

FWIW the Exquisite Indy quad signed logo went for $1,650. I'm a little bummed about the sell. I had been corresponding with the seller during the entire duration and he told me he was selling it off ebay unless I offered $1,800. Not that I would've bought it but I hate being told that I have to offer $150 more than the highest offer to have the highest offer. Seller's right, though.

No wonder I couldn't find it, the moron seller spelled "shield" wrong, forgot the "L".

I think either Wheeler might have had it at some point, but it might have been another Steeler collector on a different board, but I know one of them had it at one point.

I really hate the "Best Offer" feature at times like this. I wish I could see one of these come up for auction. You probably saw the triple Reebok/Captain/NFL patch card another dealer has posted. The sticker autograph just turns me off. Either way it's another card with an astronomical BIN.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it's hard to gauge what they "really" want for the card when they set the BIN price so high.

Want me to put a lowball offer on it to see what he counters with...assuming he does?

Based on the numbers posted and what the quad sold for I have an offer I can live with, even if I have to pay more than I should. My wife gave me permission to go to a playoff game in Indy but I never went. As much as I would've loved going the Colts come to Tennessee once a year and we have a friend who has offered us their season tickets for the game. My logic was to take the money for a playoff trip and use it on a card on my wish list. Of course there's no guarantee that the seller wants to sell. I've sent a request for a full scan of the back of the card to see what it looks like. I have no reason to assume it's not legit, right? I really need to learn up on these things.

if i had the money i would have hit the bin, but i dont. i dont think they will get much cheaper than this

his might have already been in the thread

But is that a good price? A quad logo with on card signs of Manning/Wayne/Addai/Gonzalez went for $1,650. Different beast but based on the quad price I wouldn't expect the shield to drop for $1,400. Then again I could be way wrong here.

For the sake of asking, what would everything here think is a fair offer for the Manning Triple Threads 1/1 that features patch pieces of a Reebok logo, Captain patch and NFL logo with a sticker auto? For the record I did make an offer. Just wanting to see if I was too off base after the response to the offer.

I can't believe this gained steam.

You guys are preaching to me like I believe that jerseys contain 8 different logo patches.

If you realistically think that the trend of 'event-used' logo patches won't spread to established players, you're very, very naive.

If something makes money, a company will spit it out.

I don't think anyone is saying companies aren't gonna saturate the market with shields soon enough. But true game worn 1/1 logos are always gonna pull a HUGE premium over a manufactured logo /5 or/25 or whatever.

Look at lettermen cards, the event worn and manufactured are everywhere now and can be had for next to nothing. But the true game worn ones still fetch top dollar.

This is exactly what i was just thinking. The true game used logos and lettermen's of the top players in the league continue to hold their high values. Its the same thing in Hockey. UD put out a whole crap load of manufactured "letter marks" in their SPGU sets the last 4 years straight. They also put out limited numbers of true game worn lettermens called "by the letter". These BTL cards continue to sell for top dollar. I have never seen these cards lose much value in the last 6 years or so.

There's a rather large difference between manufactured and 'event worn'.

I'm not talking about manufactured, as I'm sure they have no bearing on the 'game-worn' price. 'Event Worn' on the other hand, depending on what quantity are produced in our magical future world, will have an effect.

Question number next: Does anyone know off the top of their head when the league went to the "NFL Equipment" shields on the jerseys?

you sure? there are nfl logos in 2001 spa

Yep. All jerseys had to use Reebok NFL Equipment from that year on. Before the could use Nike, Puma, Adidas, or Reebok for their jerseys. The Shield has been on the jersey for a while, they just added to it.
