Huge day in college basketball today... Wake defeats Clemson and Pitt loses... now there is only one undefeated team left and that's Wake Forest. My predictions for the new top 25:
1. Wake Forest
2. Duke
3. UNC (unless they lose to Miami, in which case it would be UConn)
4. UConn
5. Pitt

Awful officiating in today's Pitt game. 26 Fouls, are you kidding me?

As much as I'd love to see it, I doubt they get it outright. Duke will be #1 in the coaches poll. There are still a bunch of non-believers in Wake.

Jay Balis is still claiming UNC for his #1. He said so before the UNC game last night. Qualifying #1 by saying that if you are saying #1 is who will win it all, then Wake isn't #1. Then said, "now, if you think #1 is for the team that hasn't lost and is undefeated, then maybe Wake has a case"

Huh? Maybe?

Then Hubert Davis said something like Wake has been playing like the #1 team. Then Balis jumped in and said IF UNC played like Wake has they are #1.

He makes no sense. If the Lions played like the Steelers they would be in the playoffs.

Im glad to see Illinois is finally getting some love. Wish that MSU game was a little closer though.

Everyone in the Big 10 is going to be in for rude awakenings when they go up against the ACC and Big east. Illinois can play, but they would struggle with the #9 team in the Big East (West Virginia).

Don't worry everyone. Duke will rightfully be #1 after next week when they beat down Wake.

And then they will take their rightful place on the couch watching the second weekend of the tournament.

We are talking about the Duke team that let a crappy NC State team hang around for 35 minutes, right?

A win is a win my friend. A 17 point win over NC State is nothing to be ashamed of.

Gerald Henderson is a beast.

They will loose to Wake for sure. I'll be there to watch it happen too. :D Duke doesn't have the size to match up with Wake.

I might actually end up making it to that game but it's not likely right now. Could have got tickets a few days ago, not sure if they're gone yet or not. Either way, it should be a great game I'm really looking forward to it. I love Al-Farouq and I know Ish Smith, we're from the same city but went to rival schools. Wake isn't exactly a big team. The Zoubek/McFarland matchup will be crucial!! But anytime the best and second best teams from the ACC meet it's sure to be a great game :D

Not sure who can match up with this size in the whole country.

Starters:
PG: Jeff Teague 6'2
SG: L.D. Williams 6'4
SF: Al-Farouq Aminu 6'9
PF: James Johnson 6'9
Chas McFarland 7'0

Bench (of guys that play that are also big):
Tony Woods 6'11
David Weaver 6'11
Ty Walker 7'0

What other team in college basketball has 6 guys over 6'8, and starts 3 of them?

Duke has 2 Zoubek 7'1 and Plumlee 6'10. Throw in Thomas and Singler at 6'8 and you have 4. Shoot, half the teams in the ACC are starting centers that are 6'9. Wake's SF is that.

Edit: I chose over 6'8 because anything more than that, and it's most teams' C in the ACC.

Ha, well that was too bad. I was looking forward to a 1 vs. 2 matchup. Now it will likely be 1 vs. 10 or so.

Looks like Duke will be the new #1 after destroying Maryland.

That was probably the case no matter how bad they beat Maryland. There are going to be a lot of #1s this year. If Wake beats Duke on Wed. then UConn is probably going to #1 until they play Pitt. The sad thing for Wake is that they don't get the respect the rest of the top ACC schools get. If Wake does beat Duke they probably will still be behind UNC in the next poll.

My prediction of the polls:

If Wake wins:

1. UConn
2. Pitt
3. UNC
4. Wake
5. Oklahoma
6. Duke

If Duke wins:

1. Duke
2. UConn
3. Pitt
4. UNC
5. Oklahoma
16. Wake
