Did anyone think that 1/8 of the way into the season the Nat's would be in second place in the NL East? Congratulations to them mand their fans (they do have some fans right?).

I forgot to add that they are 1/2 a game out of the wild card.

Imagine what they'll be like with Strasburg in the rotation. Adding another quality start every 5th day definitely puts them in the long term discussion. I just need my Phillies to pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and start playing baseball again. Their play over the last 12 games has been a disgrace.

GO Nationals, wits Strasburg, and hopefully **** back soon, the pitching could geet a little better, and then towards the end of the year, Zimmermann should be back

This might sound weird, but I honestly think the Nats are envisioning the future while they're on the field (Stras + Storen + Harper) and it's infusing a new spirit of confidence within them.

It's even more amazing since Zimmerman has missed 8 games this year with his bad hammy.

Being that I'm now 10 minutes away from the park (via metro), it's pretty exciting to know that a competitive team will be around. They are definitely better than last season and have a bright future ahead of them.

And yes, there are Nats fans down here and I pull for them as my NL team but as always Red Sox are my favorite. The problem is that this is a TOUGH area to get a solid and continuing fan base as the solid majority around here are not originally from the area. So many people come here with an allegiance to another team.

It's like that with pretty much every sport down here. Heck, I was in a sports bar during college football season and the place was taken over by a bunch of Iowa Hawkeye fans. And they were playing Michigan! There are fans of every team around here, it's incredible.

Teams like this usually make a bad trade under pressure from the media and fans. You been warned National fans.

Examples: Kazmir to Rays, Pirates adding Matt Morris, Mariners send Shin-Soo Choo to Indians for Ben Broussard, and the one trade that probably lead to the Nationals being so bad: Expos trade for Bartolo Colon for Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee and Brandon Phillips in 2002.
