I enjoy the WBC admittedly more than most. Not sure why, I don't pay much attention at all to national teams but I dig it when the best suit up for country. Wish I had collected previous WBC cards and would love to see a set. To the original question, there should be something released this year at some point for sure, its really a question of how extensive the set will or won't be

topps had better do this like 06 UD and 09 Topps Triple Threads...

- have them in certain topps brand, like TTT, Tier One and Museum for high end WBC game used patch cards..

- low ends should be included for base topps and bowman chrome line like the past..

I put the 2006 UD set together and it was a lot of fun.
I like the set for several reasons: it’s from the inaugural tournament, it’s somewhat comprehensive, it’s somewhat limited, and there are NO PARALLELS or variations. Perfect!

Welcome to Carlitoson's Cards Page |

In 2009, I just bought the box set. LOL
It seemed there were WBC cards in every product imaginable which I didn’t like. I did put together the Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome Yoennis Cespedes rainbows (minus the supers) just because I liked the way he played, but then he defected and his cards were suddenly going for stupid amounts. I sold almost all of those cards to fund other cards I wanted.

It will be interesting to see who will go from “international unknown” to “hobby star” (if anyone) from the 2013 tournament. From 2006, we had Matsuzaka and Alexei Ramirez. From 2009, we had Darvish, Chapman and Cespedes.
