When these first came out they sold for $150 to $200, and shortly went up to $300, and I decided to flip for a quick profit, figuring I would buy one back....

WELL, a year later, I finally found another...DAMN, and it cost me $400....but it was one of my favorites, and had to have it back. I have made enough money on some of my other flips, I rationalized the loss...

Anyways, happy to have it back in my collection

Re: OFFICIAL MAILDAY and NEW PICKUPS

Bad scan, but its a BGS 9 (9.5,9,9,9) JOE MAUER REFRACTOR AUTO

My 3rd one, maybe eventually i will get a chrome refractor 9.5 (the gold refractor is way too much and I don't care for the xfractors)

Order of my purchases
1 - bowman chrome Auto (ungraded)
2 - bowman chrome refractor (psa9)
3 - Bowman chrome refractor (bgs9), anyway, now I have the psa 9 to sell.

I know you are a nice guy and love to give stuff away, but Do you actually buy cards to give out?
Just curious...

Re: OFFICIAL MAILDAY and NEW PICKUPS

Just picked this up - Looks real nice with 4 sharp corners.
Also, it is the first time I have seen one advertised including the envelope and the cert card.
I also thought it was a good price at $825

An absolutely amazing card at any price. That card is so beautiful.

I didn't pick up too much this week:

Re: OFFICIAL EBAY WINS, MAILDAY and NEW PICKUPS

These are a far cry from what they were at one time. And he is even having a decent season.
I just don't get why some prospects sell so high?

Oh, I KNOW...i just don't get it. Most prospects won't pan out as well as many "seasoned" players, who's rare rookies can be obtained for a fraction of the prospects...I guess they are willing to pay to be the "first kid on the block"...

That is so worth the premium when you get all the extras with it.

Love, love, love that card. Its epic.

Further, it reminds us what kind of a player Griffey was, and is strangely foretelling in that Mantle looked like a lock for 600 HR's and was slowed by injuries to 'merely' 500 and Griffey looked like a lock for 700 HR's and was, etc.

Two of the all time greats.

THanks...
One of the first dual autos too (i understand that the bench/morgan was the first).
I believe griffey/mantle are the TWO BIGGEST "FAN FAVORITES" in the history of the game.

That is and has always been such a beautiful card. Anyone would be on top of the world to have it in their posession. Probably the best on card dual auto ever produced. Whenever I'm in the market for a Mantle auto, I always end up buying Vintage instead.

Re: THE OFFICIAL EBAY WINS, MAILDAY and NEW PICKUP THREAD

Bought a BGS 9 with 9.5 sub and 10 auto and sold my psa 9
mauerref.jpg

A card I have been trying to get for quite awhile. Bought it raw, and did a psa/dna quick opinion, then submitted for slabbing!
The grade was a nice surprise.
