I had to share this. I have not reached out or received an answer yet from either party to see what may have happened, but here is the story.

I bought some singles from an ebay seller. I had purchased about 20 or so Desert Storm cards from the same seller a few weeks previous and ended up winning 6 more. I paid for the lot and waited. The package was marked as delivered on a day I had off. All of my packages go to my work address. I happened to get a fairly large number of packages over that weekend and following Monday (the day of the delivery), so I didn't really notice a single order or that anything might have been missing until I was checking everything in on ebay after I got home. I noticed that this order showed delivered, but I definitely didn't get it. I then checked into the tracking number and it said the item was delivered to an individual. The rest of the packages that arrived that day showed that they were left at the mailbox. This particular package was "delivered" maybe an hour earlier than the rest too. Odd, we do have a receptionist that receives mail, but she didn't take my package and didn't know what to say when I told her one had gone missing! After another couple of days and me searching around the office, I consider the cards lost. I hate to lose anything, but this was maybe $8 with postage, so nothing to lose sleep over. Still, it was just weird.

Fast forward to today (maybe 2 more weeks or more) and I logged on to COMC. I had made two offers late last night and neither had received a response before I went to bed, so I was checking to see how it went (2 counter offers, by the way..ended up buying 1 and passing on the other, not that it relates to the story in any way). When I signed in, there was a message saying I had 6 items that needed my attention. I had never seen this message before. I am strictly a buyer and the only messages I ever had were offers or rejections of my offers. I click on the link and there were my six missing cards! WTF?

I did message the seller tonight, but no reply yet and may try COMC tomorrow, but I am baffled by this. My office is in Redmond, the same city where COMC resides, but we are not what I would consider close neighbors. They are on the other side of town, maybe a couple miles away. I am wondering how this could have happened. I am just glad my cards made it back to me but this is one for the books for sure.

Could the seller have somehow sent them, unsolicited, via COMC mailbox? The cost is .50 per card (as opposed to .25 per card via basic service, if you send them in yourself), so if COMC charged you $3 to list the cards (rather than $1.5) it might suggest they came via Mailbox.

I bought the cards from a seller in auction format (not through COMC) and they were not posted for sale. I don't think I have been changed anything. It is just like they were added to my portfolio and I'll have them shipped with my next order.

So, is it like if the guy had them on COMC or you buy something through COMC on ebay and already have an account with them then they just add it to your portfolio? If so, you'd better watch it.

I actually purchased two different items from them via ebay a brief while back and they charged me twice for shipping. Even though I paid separately and at different times they figured they'd send in one package. Nice! Got a refund, however.
