Can anyone explain why my Christian Friedrich Printing Plate has a 2008-2009 Topps Hardwood checklist printed on it.

Re: Weirdest PRINTING PLATE ever!! TriStar and Topps?

That is strange. It's not from being stuck next to the checklist card or else the print would be inverse.

They printed the Basketball cards before the baseball, and the residual ink on the blanket of the press was transferred to your plate. Usually they would scrap the first sheets that come out of the press until everything is clean and lines up. Thats my theory.

Recycled plates. I used to work at a print shop and they would try and use the same plate as many times as possible.

Plates aren't recycled for again, they are only burned once. If you rub it down with alcohol the checklist will probably come off. They may have reused a dirty blanket or makeready had transgress some ink.
