Well all, the worst day I have had in a long time - Laid Off

I got laid off today. The staffing/recruiting world is hurting bad, and even though we are the #1 in the industry, we have been hurting also.

Sadly enough, I am gone, and now unemployed.

The new job search begins, and I am worried with the job market the way it is currently.

Sadly also, I am going to be unloading most of my collection

Hang in there,I hope everything works out for you and your family.

Unemployment is a short term fix,So maybe you don't have to sell anything right away.

Who knows you might get lucky and find a job within acouple months.

I am sorry Matt, that just sucks. I got my letter last week saying my district is cutting 160 teachers and i am one. hopefully we start to see some positive things to all of us.

Good luck out there. My GF lost her job last year and was unemployed for 6 months. She only went on 1 interview for her field the entire time (not from lack of looking.) Luckily her old employer rehired her for a position she did with them before her last promotion. Not her ideal situation, but with the job market where it is, we are very thankful.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Sometimes change is for the better though. I was in a situation like yours where I had only done 1 type of job since I was 15. I was 1 year away from getting my journeyman's and decided the pay didn't match the hard work so I quit and went into a totally different field. That was about 8 years ago. I work for myself now and do what I want for the most part. It will work out in the long run.
