even if you never bought another card for your PC you went out with a big bang! congrats on landing a rare one.. I know exactly how that feels although I don't know what it feels to spend that much on a card.. and I never will cause my guy doesn't have anything that would sell anywhere near that range. regardless of price its always great to knock a tough sought after card off your list..especially a cornerstone to a collection!

Nice find, WELL DONE!

That is a White Whale, unlike some of the "Whales" shown on this board.

Exactly my thought - the term gets thrown around so casually, it's refreshing to see when it actually applies.

Congratulations.

I tried to win the PSA 5 when it showed up on Ebay several years ago. My friend now owns it

CONGRATS - quite an accomplishment!

If you don't mind, can you relay the history of the Milton Bradley version? I never knew about that one...

How rare are the Ven's. I'm trying to find a 1964 for a collection I'm working on. Should I give up on it now? :D

Not quite sure, they show up from time to time but it seems to based alot on the player. This is only the 3rd ryan rookie I have seen and the other is the ps5 josh was talking about. I have been looking for one for almost 10 years and the last one that came up I only found after it had ended. Just like any other super rare card it really comes down to do diligence and the willing to spend the money when it appears.

How much did it go for? I would love to have that card.

from what I have heard over the years they were recieved through some sort of redemption on milton bradleys part. PSA will not grade them but for some reason bvg does. The little information I have has come from different collectors I have talked through on a few different boards. The miltons seem to be some what rarer than the opg. I would guess that there is 1 opg for every 100 topps. There is likly 1 milton brabley for every 2-3 opgs.

And thanks to all of you on your notes of congratz. I am very excited to have finally landed it.
