Well, ive decided to push foward with hockey collecting.....

Ive given it some deep thought the last day or so and consulted with friends.....

Given my love of Joe Sakic, ive decided to continue rooting for the franchise that made him famous....
The Quebec Avalanche

and am going to focus on Quebec/Avs Rookie Cards, starting current, working backwards.

It came down to going back to the Islanders, or "re-signing" with Colorado lol

Of course, i must continue my Young Guns Collection, and will not hesitate to pick up other
rcs that catch my eye

That is awesome and we welcome you with open arms to the Hockey boards. It will be nice having another "full time" Hockey poster to shoot the **** with on the hockey boards. Just even the last few days here with all your new threads has made it more interesting :lol:


I, myself was a big Nordiques fan from right around the same time as you ( right around when Sakic entered the NHL) and i was a big fan of theirs until they went to Colorado. Then it just wasn't quite the same and i "lost interest" in them probably the second or third year they were in Colorado. Colorado is good hobby team though as they will always have nice cards coming out of Sakic, Forsberg, Roy, Ray Bourque Etc. and they have some great young talent these days as well like Paul Stastny, Matt Duchene, Peter Mueller, Chris Stewart and TJ Galiardi.

that's great to hear and I hope we helped sway you in some small way. the Islanders could have used another fan but the Quebec Avs are a better choice in my opinion especially since you were already a fan. like Bilko and Jared said it will be good to have another full-timer around the hockey boards. I am definitely looking forward to seeing some Joe Sakic cards and lots of other old/new Avs cards.

I remember when I first started collecting hockey. It was a nice refreshing change at that time to the daily grind that is/was baseball.

Avalanche are a good team to collect I think. Lots of nice patches, autos, and what not. I think they are going to be a good team in the years to come. Chris Stewart is a lot of fun to watch; Duchense and Ryan O'Reilly are only going to get better.
