Awesome game. I imagine every game this series is going to be an epic battle, one way or the other. The biggest shock to me was Gordon's blast off Familia-- I thought the Mets had it won going into that bottom half of the ninth. Grats to Gordon and the Royals pitching staff for coming up huge when needed!

Yeah I agree I think this whole series will be a grinded (ground?) out battle-pretty well matched teams. The Phillies fan in me is rooting for the Royals but the baseball fan in me is excited to watch the rest of this series! Really really really great game of baseball played tonight

Yes, it was a great game. I thought the game was over with 1 out in the bottom of the ninth. Then Familia grooved one and Gordon blasted it 442 feet to dead center. So cool.

Was a great game and even the wife was paying attention with me and she enjoyed it. Though I picked the Mets, no real horse in the race so I just hope it remains competitive.

I made it through the 11th and started the top of the 12th, but zonked out. Woke up and heard Jesus Buck say Colon took the loss, so assumed the Royals won, then passed out for the night. Gordon's HR was a stunner.
