Well, this is an interesting take on attempting to sell a fake patch.

I'm guessing he bought it thinking he was real. Found out it was a fake and now doesn't want it so is disclosing its fake.

Glad he isn't trying to pass it off as real. Props for being honset about what you are selling. Most wouldn't disclose this.

Seller says he bought it knowing it was a fake. The only problem I can see is someone buying this intending to pass it off as real...in fact, I bet this will end up with a massive price tag at the White Plains show with the other hundreds of fake patches. If someone honest buys it, there should be a way to stamp it or deface it in a way that makes it clear it's a fake.

I don't find anything wrong with the seller. There is no way you can buy this without knowing what you are buying.

Who wants to bet this gets sold again in 91 days in a blue label Authentic BGS slab.

I got suckered on a fake Josh Beckett Classic Clippings patch right around when 2010 Bowman came out (traded a Strasburg Orange paper and a Starlin Castro Ref auto for the Beckett and a pile of lesser PC cards). It sucks knowing I got screwed, but I know it'll never leave my collection, so I never worry about someone else getting scammed. If I had to, I would probably figure a way to leave a very visible crimping or stamping that doesn't run the card or the appearance, yet ensures no one will mistake it for real. Perhaps something similar to how Fleer stamped the National Pastime Buybacks, except with a big smiley face that says I'M FAKE!

Lol i missed that sentence. I mean for a PC collector buying this for like 5 bucks or under is kinda a cool card but can't imagine it gets very much at all.

The seller's a good guy. He is selling off his Bagwell collection and had a collection that makes mine look laughable. He's always up front about everything he has sold. I'd know as I've watched/bid on/or won a lot of his items.

But...imagine if that was real? That thing would go for a pretty penny!

I wouldn't believe that was real even if I pulled it myself.

I'm actually curious as to how he knows it's fake. I believe him, but he says he purchased it knowing it was so I'm guess either he'd seen it prior to the additions or the seller he got it from was just as honest.

Just destroy the card IMO. No reason to keep it in the marketplace. Somewhere along the line, a not so honest seller will find a mark.

Ended up selling for $26.99, way more than I was willing to go. Now let's see if this resurfaces as a "real" patch card.
