The design is terrible.

Agreed.

One of the commenters on Mario's post used the word "uninspired," which I think could not be a better word to describe this crap.

Why name it "Unique" if it looks completely boring? That Chipper card makes me fall asleep mid gaze. So bland. Yeah, they use the best parts of the jersey, but honestly, who cares? Its like they took a stock powerpoint background that they use on the slides at my job, spliced some tiny ass player pics, and tried to dress it up with the nice swatches.

Could actually be worse than Triple Threads, and that takes some effort.

Couldn't agree more.

When is the last time Topps has put out a set with a great looking design?

(Sorry my mind is fuzzy...or is it because they haven't in so long?)

eh,not a fan of the design but as a player collector I will buy it.

You are assuming that Beltran is good enough to make the set! :P

LOL Eddie I was thinking the same thing and was just about to post, "What makes you think Beltran is even going to be in this set???"

Beltran has been in many Topps products this year. I'm not saying he will be, but you'd think they would put more than just David Wright in there.

I never really understood why some people prefer 1 pack of 5 cards for $500 with a hit in every pack, over a 10 box case with 6 cards per pack and 24 packs per box at $50 a box where there is 1 major hit per case. You get the same number of major hits, and also have tons of other nice cards at the same price.

Personally I really like the design of the set, but that's just my opinion.

He is a good filler base card.

Well if I didnt collect him I wouldnt want to pull his autograph/Game used they dont go for much.

What do people like about the look of the set, besides the laundry tag?

Crisp and simple. It's also different than what I'm used to seeing from recent sets.

I have to side with those that think those cards look great
As others said - I love the clean design, with the pic and everything....they look like great cards to display.

I also can't wait to see the product configuration. Personally I think it is refreshing if it is a "lower-end" set. Obviously those will be tough pulls, but if the rest of the set looks good - it may be the type of product that you can come back to. I like the idea of not knowing exactly what every box break is going to look like (other than obviously which player you'll pull) and honestly i applaud Topps for making such cool cards to include together in a "lower end set" (if that's the case)....it bucks the trend of creating yet another product designed around an insert set.....so I'm thankful there won't be "Topps bat barrels" and "Topps Logo's" and whatever other ridiculous throw away product they could have created to put these cards out

Everyone disagrees what good design is. Everyone considers themselves Vern Yip.

I think the correct statement would be that everyone considers themselves Paul Rand.

I understand you were making a joke. I was hoping some people would google Paul Rand to learn about graphic design.
