Saw Livan Hernandez once when I was in San Francisco. He was jaywalking across a street near the stadium.

This is not baseball, but I live a few houses away from Adrian Peterson, so I met him at Halloween his RC year and have seen him outside a couple times as well.

Were you trick-or-treating or was he?

Rode the elevator with Manny Ramirez and a teammate of mine for 3 or 4 floors. We just said hi and asked who he was playing that day (it was ST in Fort Myers). He is SHORT

Got to talk to Teixeira a bit when we played against him at Georgia Tech. Wasn't famous yet, so I don't know what he is like now. He was genuine at the time. He also didn't play b/c he broke his wrist beginning of his last year at GT.

Have met Curt Schilling multiple times, once at a banquet for ALS and got to sit at the same table as him, very nice guy.

Saw John Burkett and Trot Nixon chatting up waitresses at Hooters over wings and pitchers of beer.

I was. I kinda didn't feel like trick or treating since I was feeling that I was too old (I was 16 at the time), but I ended up taking my brother to some houses. He convinced me to go as we had heard AP had moved here.

My brother and I approached his house. We thought his brother or some other relative might pick up the door, but Adrian actually. We were shocked! He is one HUGE guy!

He handed out a pretty nice signed picture (slightly bigger than 8 by 10) and told us to come back over later, because he was out of candy. We both went over to our house and stored our stuff. I found a RC I had of him and took it over there to be signed. He was incredibly nice and was more than willing to sign it. He also gave us the ever promised candy.

It was definitely a great experience. He's a very nice, down to earth human being and seems very approachable. I was going to go again last year and ask, but didn't want to bug him or anything. I still have a Vikes helmet I'm wanting to get signed.

I guess I'll ask some time. Just want to give him his space, though.

Main one I can think of is a basketball player:

My gf and I were in line at a Quizno's here in Huntington Beach behind Dennis Rodman. He had two women with him and they took FOREVER to order! :D Funny thing was two guys were behind us and were whispering to each other, unsure if it was Rodman or not. Let's see, super tall guy, white afro, tattoos, piercings...guess it could be Rodman. :?

When my family went to Maui when I was 9, we stayed at the same Embassy Suites as Don Mattingly. Me and my Dad talked to him and his wife for about 10 minutes on the beach. He seemed like a decent guy, but then again I was 9 so I may not have picked up on any sarcasm/cruelty in the conversation.

The most famous player I've ever met was Greg Maddux, on two separate occasions. The first time was when I was about 9 years old at a local McDonalds. My dad and I were eating and then he came with his son and sat down at the table right next to us. Ended up talking to him for about 10-15 minutes. I also met him in front of a grocery store a few years ago with some of my teammates when we were trying to sell some fundraiser stuff for our HS team. We ended up talking to him for a while and, since he knew my coach, came to one of our practices one day. He is very down to earth and is an incredibly nice guy.

I've also met a few minor leaguers. Danny Reynolds (6th round pick of the Angels) and I have been friends since 1st grade. Chris Carter (AA in the A's organization) came to one of our practices this year along with Niko Vasquez (Low-A in Cardinals organization) and Tommy Pham (A in Cardinals organization). I talked to all of them for a while and all of them were pretty cool, especially Carter. He seemed to be a very modest, down to earth kind of guy. I also worked out with Jon Berger (33rd round pick of the Padres) right after he was drafted.

I work at the airport here in Sarsota, and have seen numerous players. We handle the Reds, and Pirates planes each year when they leave spring training so I have seen everyone that plays for both of those teams....Recently I have seen Yorman Rodriguez, Yonder Alonso, but the nicest one I have ever met was Jay Bruce

At Spring Training this year, all the players had left post-game, so I headed over to my truck and started throwing everything in my trunk. Then, Alejandro de Aza like sketchily tapped on my shoulder and told me he didn't know where his car was. I was like "Ok..?"

Weirdest encounter I've ever had..
