In my opinion FCB is rolling along fine as-is, at least compared to other forums.

My suggestion might or might not go along well - it would take a lot of work by the mods but it has worked on another forum.

So much focus is on buying and selling here - trading can be hard to find. How about a trading "contest" a week or two long: the member with the most individual trades (not sales) during that time-span wins a prize? On Trading Card Central we called it a "Trade-A-Thon". It could encourage members to get more involved in the trading side of the hobby.

This would involve quite a bit of record-keeping by the mods, since feedback can be left without a trade or sale actually occurring. All trades would need to be posted and kept track of.

This is going to sound somewhat ridiculous, and might not even be possible.  How about if someone, or two people got together and filmed a weekley video basically recap-ing a week's worth of events that happened on FCB.  Think along the lines of Sportscenter, with event and thread breakdowns by analysts. Obviously there would have to be some humor involved at others expense, and done in good fun.  It would be made available on youtube for everyone to see.
For the love of Christ let Joshhamilton and Justinmandawg take turns with this.

The idea of having a different member do it every week could work.  However, I agree with you about JoshHamilton.  It would be great if he did it every week.

Instead of SportsCenter, it could be called "ForumCenter".

I would TOTALLY do that.

But I don't work unless I'm guaranteed a few perks

1. A bowl of red M&M's in my changing room
2. A lime green pimp suit
3. An Abraham Lincoln tophat
4. A monocle
5. A cane
6. Wingtip shoes

I will only agree to be filmed in a dungeon or a public library. Nowhere else

I mimic Gilbert Gottfried and only speak in Comic Sans font.

If Chris Gilmore will agree to my demands, I will do this

I like the following ideas:

1) Sponsor a team.
2) Point system for discounts in FCB store.
3) Card set of "main" members. Reduce it to the top 100 or 200 members that contribute the most to the site (in terms of informative posts, box breaks, etc). Include maybe 20 autos of certain members to create an auto subset and perhaps add a subset of "odd balls" such as "post of the year" card with that member, "pull of the year" card with that member etc.
Problem: only including 100 members means selecting them. Put this through a nomination and vote. Top 100 members who get votes are in the set.
This would be time consuming but fun.
4) referrals to this site.
5) meeting members.

I saw another board have people mail in cards they don't need or want (#rd inserts, or cheap gu); then board members could earn or win points by posting that you could use in a virtual store to "buy" those cards.

I think that would only get us more posters like autorook.

get some tshirts made in Red and sent them to Spain for running of the Bulls. I think we could then make world news and it would be great.

got plenty of time for this years' event

The Pamplona Running of the Bulls is a part of the San Fermin Festival, which runs in Pamplona from July 6 to July 14 every year.

Love the idea....
We should give the T-shirts to the "chubby" guys who are a little slow on foot.
This way we have a better shot at some exposure as they are the most likely
to get gored or trampled!

More group breaks. Maybe even some hosted by the FCB box shop. Andrew does a good job, but he is only one man. I frequent the other BOard because they have a huge selection of group breaks.

Maybe give away Jordan Rookies to pump up the Hoops boards?

They've fallen below Hockey, who has its devotees and great Mods. And more breaks would definitely help. I'm looking at some early Football releases...

And the more I think about it, the more I like the "group buy" of a HUGE, icon-type card.
