I think we need another team in Northern California. Maybe Sacramento, they gotta gigantic basketball arena going in, maybe if that does good, they get an MLS team the Rays can move here. I'm not being serious but that'd be coo

Nashville would be a good place for a MLB team. 20 years ago I didn't know if we would ever get a pro team. But thanks to Bud Adams and the Titans, and Predators, we have 2 thriving pro franchises. If hockey can make it here I know baseball can. Nashville is really growing with a great economy.

Louisville, like Lexington, is more of a college town. If the Louisville Bats have trouble filling the seats, I doubt a MLB team would do much better. I would like to see it happen though. I live 3.5 hours from St Louis, 6 hours from Chicago, 3 hours from Cincy & 6 hours from ATL and Louisville is only 2 hours away. Here is an expansion proposal link:

I've said for years that MLB should cap stadium capacity in new parks to 35,000 and focus on intimate parks.

Secondly, you need to research not population but number of Fortune 500 companies. These are your ticket eaters, suite buyers and employers to the middle class fans that you're catering to.

Louisville is an interesting city. It is ALWAYS a top 5 city in any sport on TV. They consume sports well, just not sure about the geography.

Perhaps San Juan would be better suited. Travel would stink but it'd be fun to see a team somewhere like Caracas too. If Canada can have a team....

I don't think a city were people are lined up and stamped for bread and toilet paper and also kills students in demonstrations can host a MLB team.

How about a team in a major city in Idaho. As far as I know they have no Major Professional Sports teams in the entire State. It's about time that Idaho has something to become more famous then potatoes. :)

Being serious though, I wish Indianapolis would get one.
Yeah, I don't think Wyoming or Idaho would support a team very well at all. I have never been to either of those States, but I imagine they are more into Farming and maybe Rodeo than Baseball. Just a guess.

I also think Oklahoma City, Oklahoma would do pretty well since I think they support the Thunder of the NBA pretty good.

Cheyenne, Wyoming.

I guess when I look into a city getting a team, I look at the proximity of other teams. With Cheyenne being just a couple of hours from Denver, the baseball population is rockies fans there. I guess l would have a hard time changing my rooting interest if I was already closely located to another team, even if one moved right to my city. Another thing with Cheyenne is that it isn't much of a baseball town from what I've seen. It is definitely a football town though (Denver Broncos)

The proximity of other teams is exactly why I thought of Indianapolis though. You already have awesome regional rivalries built in from the start, being so close to Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, St. Louis.

Which automatically means that if MLB did put a team there they would be in the American League, lol.

I'd like to have a team in Indy that I could go watch. I was born in Indianapolis, and have a lot of family there, so that would be fun. I've been to Victory Field, their minor league ballpark downtown, and it is nice.

The Reds, Cubs, Whitesox, Cardinals, Brewers and Tigers would block a team in Indy or Louisville. Nashville would probably be blocked by Atlanta and St. Louis. But if either city would build a tax payer funded stadium and give a team a subsidy, I'm sure the formentioned teams would turn the other cheek.

The Whitesox has an indirect minor league team in Florence, KY (15 miles from Cincinnati) and the Reds tried to block that one but since they're not owned by the Whitesox and independent, the Reds didnt have a say so.

Louisville was another one I was thinking of.

But honestly, I don't think Louisville or Indianapolis has the population to warrant a Major League team. Indianapolis isn't that large.

With the devalued Cnd dollar at 70 cents US it won't happen soon...they're trying to get a hockey team back into Quebec City and that's the biggest obstacle. All the major sports salaries are in US dollars.

But, but, but ... the memories of Rodney McCray should be enough !!!
