I got to thinking after seeing a recent post, what do you as a buyer use to determing the buying price for a card?

All but what the seller paid. It shouldn't effect buying, unless you are going off of a principle or something.

it depends on a lot. what my budget is at the time, the rarity of the card, how bad i want it & how often it comes up for sale.

How much I feel the card is worth

Same. I've paid over market (and even book) price on rare cards I want for my collection that only pop up every once in a while on ebay. I feel like I've got some good deals on cards as well, so it all balances out.

I think it's safe to say that we all feel this way, but the question was/is, how do you/we determine what "I feel the card is worth".

Thats the question at hand.

+1, they all are factored in "Except" what the seller paid for it (I don't base my buy price's on being responsible for covering someone else's loss, or if they got a good deal on it then that is good for them; I don't expect them to cut me a deal if they got it cheap, so I don't feel I'm responsible for covering thier loss). Unless it's still worth it (I think I just wrote a confusing mess so I hope ya'll get what I'm saying)! :D
