I sold a card ($34 +$3 shipping), guy paid a couple days later (yesterday) and I was just about to print off paypal postage to get it out today. When I went to print postage I noticed a note on that paypal slip and went to read it, this is what it said.

Please notify me if the card is not at least NM-M, packaged in a magnetic or screw-down plastic case, shipped in a bubble mailer, & mailed within 7 days.

Thanks.

Now is this guy telling me I HAVE to ship it in a magnet/screw down or he wont be happy? I mean this seems a bit excessive to expect in my opinion.

Did you show the card in the auction in a magnetic/screwdown case....I have had requests such as these before, and really since I have hundreds of screw down cases, I go ahead and just send it that way....

No, it is in a normal hard sleeve. I do not have any used Magnets or screw downs, otherwise I wouldnt have much issue. I am defenitally not giving him a brand new magnet case because he demands it be shipped in one.

I would tell him it is not coming in a magnetic case since it was not pictured or stated in the auction that way.

Kind of OT, but why do you call it a "rookie auto" in the description? Thats a 2nd year card.. typo?

Yea, the card I listed before it was a rookie, I just usually hit "sell similar item" and forgot to take out the word Rookie in it. I didnt notice it until after a bid was placed so I just left it alone.

yeah, if you dont have any, then I would just email him back and tell him you are shipping just the way you show the card in the auction, and that you dont have any magnets or screwdowns otherwise you would have certainly shipped that way......

Shouldnt be a big deal

Actually now that I look, I sold a Miggy in between the Billingsley rookie and this.... Maybe im just an idiot. Seems much more plausable.

Im telling ya Kutzy your gonna get burned, if he stipulating demands, your gonna get hosed, either by condition, shipping time, or not received as described. If I ever get an email like that, I refund the money asap and say no thanks. $35 is not worth the hassle of getting your paypal acct locked until the disputes over.

I sent him a message (nearly identical to PujolsThome's suggestion) basically saying how im shipping and if he wants to back out let me know. I guess I will wait until tomorrow to send his package and get a response from him. Although then, he may complain it took an extra day to ship. Who knows.... Of all the thousands of deals ive done on ebay this is the first time I have had such a thing pop up.

Doubt he will have a problem. If it was not described in the auction and he is just throwing extra terms out there, that wont really fly. He bid on the item under the conditions in which the card was listed. About the only thing he could claim was item not described do to a defect in the card....not the case it was shipped in. If this happens, then he would have to return the card to get the refund anyway, which really isnt a big deal because honestly, kutzy can get just as much or more if he would have to relist it.....and he could also still get his fees back....

Yea, he got a steal on it to be quite honest. I assumed it would gather around $50, so either way is fine for me.

Yes of course , but the buyer can also damage the card, say it was damaged in shipping, not as described, and Kutzy gets his paypal funds suspended until the claim is cleared. I say wait for his response Kutzy and even if there's an inkling that he's gonna bust balls, refund and walk away. This new policy has single-handedly stopped me from selling on Ebay.
