Dear Sir,

I will ship out the card as I normally do. I use DC and that is my protection. If you have issues on your end, I suggest you take it up with USPS. I'm sure if there is a thief, they will steal bubble mailers without a ebay/Paypal logo eventually. Your email is considered feedback extortion and will be used against you if deemed necessary.

Thanks for understanding.

yikes...i hate when buyers/sellers change AFTER the auction ends...never ask a question before they bid/win. lol

sounds like trouble so just go ahead the way he demanded but def. block for future auctions and some of us here would appreciate his ebay username here because some of us use paypal shipping

If it isn't shipped from Paypal they won't cover it and he can chargeback.

This is not true.

If you use DC and can prove it by giving them a code then you can win a chargeback.
Really? That has never worked for me.

as long as you can show it's delivered

The trick is that the dispute system does not automatically import the tracking unless you use paypal shipping. I use stamps.com and have never had a problem winning a chargeback as a result of them not taking my DC info.

Well he never said you couldnt write on the package exactly what is inside.

Doesnt include any of the words he said not to include.

Hahaha, awesome!

This guy pissed me off in the worst way, but maybe I'm in a mood.

I'd do what he wants, but explain that I don't appreciate the extortion or the attitude. Unless he apologizes, I'd block.

BUT

To all the people that want to tell him to **** off: what if the package doesn't get there? Then your DC that you so defiantly did your way aint worth crap. And now this **** knuckle gets to leave a smarmy, i-told-him-so negative feedback post.

I would make this a one and done. Meet this "demands" and send this one out...Its not like his demands are really out of line, but I would block him after this. People that make up rules without consulting the seller prior to bidding will tend to be nothing but trouble.

I would have a huge problem with this and agree I need to know this before the auction - I mail out 120 orders a month (not through ebay/paypal). I use stamps.com - I could not afford the time to affix DC at the PO for all of these.

$2.49 covers the postage cost - but my time is wiorth a lot more than that - it does not cover time spent wasting in line at the PO.

The whole do things my way or get a negative is crazy.

I mail out about 100 items a month between Ebay, here, and a number of video game sites. I very rarely go to the post office, and when I do I am never there for longer than 10 mintues. My at home time is part of the selling process, I treat my internet sales like a part time job, and therefore the time to list auctions/pack items/drop them off is a neccessary part of the process. If I dont do that stuff, then I dont get paid...pretty simple idea. In life, your time is worth nothing to anybody else but yourself.

As for the site that you use... Stamps.com ....do they not offer DC? I would think that they would if they offer USPS postage. If they dont then maybe you should switch to Paypal or USPS. They both always offer DC as an option, and with so many ****** buyers out there its always best to CYA (Cover Your Ass).

I would send it to him with large hand written text on the package:

NOT A SPORTSCARD!

can you use stamps.com if you do not have stickers to print their postage on?

I can totally understand if the guy is worried about someone stealing his mail, but the issue for me is the way he asked. He makes demands and threats after the auction has ended.

I suppose as a seller you could just go ahead and ship the way you always do and tell the buyer, "You agreed to the terms of the auction when you bid on it, you cannot make demands after the fact." The DC should cover you if the card does go missing. If he posts negative feedback then you have his original threatening email as ammo in your eBay dispute. Of course, it'd be a hassle to go through the dispute process.

In any case, I'd block the bidder. Too much attitude when a polite request might have gotten him what he wanted. And now most FCB'ers will be blocking him too. Too bad for him.

Send it the way you would normally, and keep all emails so you can report it to ebay when and if he leaves you negative feedback.
I hate it when people make demands after they win, if you have a demand, ask first, then bid.

Will DC really help? Is the PO scanning the cards as delivered and keeping them or are they just disappearing into the system? DC protects you against the seller from scamming you not the PO. If they are disappearing into the system and not showing delivered you will have to refund the buyer.

Stamps.com gives you pretty much the same kind of label as Paypal/ebay, so yes. Just cut out and tape like usual.

I used it for a couple months during a promotion, but don't do enough business to justify the monthly fees.

I wouldn't put one better than the other though for basic ebay card selling, other than the scale w/software automatically enters into the program. Meaning you don't have to manually put in 3 oz for everything. The scale reads it and enters the exact weight into the label.
