I would refund and block explaining now he has one less item to worry about being stolen.

Simply put, its not your responsibility to make sure things run smoothly on HIS end.

If someone in his local PO location is stealing, tell him to take it up with them. Its not your responsibility to go through everything he said so that he gets it.

And with the FB being threatened, the incoming negative would be removed IMO!

I don't understand how removing this information will keep his mail from being stolen. If the same person is stealing his mail and knows he regularly purchases sports cards, then he should know that sports cards come in bubble envelopes with delivery confirmation.

Juking a sticky-fingered USPS employee isn't your job. If this person really believes someone is tampering with the mail he/she needs to take it up with someone at their local PO or have the cards shipped somewhere else. This isn't your (the seller's) problem.

Ship the way you usually do, purchase insurance and let the buyer know how you're shipping it and that you are both covered with DC, insurance and a possible refund. And let them know that you will report them for the threatening e-mail and then send them a link or a copy of the e-bay policy concerning threatening e-mails and feedback abuse. Then let the buyer decided if they want to cancel the transaction.

As for the site that you use... Stamps.com ....do they not offer DC? I would think that they would if they offer USPS postage. If they dont then maybe you should switch to Paypal or USPS. They both always offer DC as an option, and with so many shatty buyers out there its always best to CYA (Cover Your Ass).

Yes they do and I use it frequently - like paypal it produces a label and I throw it in my outgoing mail. Never had a problem with it - and I only go to the PO in rare casees I am shipping to CA or have a high dollar shipment.

For someone to say I need to use a manual process and go tot he PO to get DC is my issue.

stamps.com absolutely uses DC

it's a much more reliable shipping tool than paypal shipping

can you use stamps.com if you do not have stickers to print their postage on?

Yes for packages - I print on plain paper use a glue stick and tape the edges.

Stamps require special labels.

I love stamps.com and wouldn't do business without them.

I absolutely agree. And thank you for putting the Stamps.com bug in my ear. I will be sure to check it out, but as another member had asked, do you need to use stickers to print the postage? I like Paypal shipping because I can print and tape the postage down.

Dear Sir,

I will ship out the card as I normally do. I use DC and that is my protection. If you have issues on your end, I suggest you take it up with USPS. I'm sure if there is a thief, they will steal bubble mailers without a ebay/Paypal logo eventually. Your email is considered feedback extortion and will be used against you if deemed necessary.

Thanks for understanding.

First thing I thought of as well. Regardless of what's on the outside, or what kind of stamps/delivery confirmation/insurance/etc was used, anyone who collects cards knows that they are normally shipped in a bubble mailer of some sort. If the OP's buyer is experiencing problems with stolen mail, somebody in the USPS's chain knows what's being delivered and nabs it. The buyer definitely needs to take it up with his local postmaster and go from there. Harassing his sellers the way he is isn't the solution - it only exacerbates the overall problem.

WTF Does he not think the postal working will know that even though it does not say paypal/ebay on it but does have delivery conformation on it that it is not a sports card inside.

Oh and if this was me I would put on the return address something along the lines of
Male Enhancement INC. Or Cross-Gender.com ;)

Oh I would contact eBay and just refund him his money, and see if you can relist the card and get your fees back.

That's what I am thinking in all honesty it doesn't matter how it's addressed at all. The person knows it's most likely more cards to steal.

I agree 100% with the buyer, other than one thing, threathening negative feedback. All he had to do was make the request, explain why, and leave it at that. There are shady people everywhere including postal workers. I NEVER write anything on the outside of my packages I ship for this reason.

How clear is the policy on your auctions for how the cards will be shipped? Does it specify bubble mailer, top loader, sleeve, cardboard, etc.? If so, that's what I refer back to. I try to make mine as clear as possible......example [ebay:31d99b2q]330478164406[/ebay:31d99b2q] -- 2nd bullet point in blue. I also use 2 pieces of the thickest cardboard I can find to further protect the item. A little extra work, but it has successfully eliminated the need for a bubble mailer, thereby saving both me and the buyer money while still insuring as much protection as possible in shipping.

I've had cases similar to the ones mentioned (but not quite as harshly worded by the buyer) where the buyer tried to dictate how they wanted it shipped. I'm flexible to a point and adhere to the "customer is always right" philosophy, but when you take the time to spell it out on your auctions and THEY don't take the time to read it & then try and dictate how you'll ship, that's not my fault, and I've responded to a couple that have been unreasonable and explained that my shipping methods are clearly stated and if there's a problem with that, I'll be happy to refund their money if they don't want to go through with the transaction.

And I tend to agree with the sentiment that eBay won't help you one bit if feedback WAS abused.

Best of luck!

Another question. If the package gets stolen how will the buyer know how you shipped the card?

If I was having issues with cards being stolen by a postal employee, I just wouldn't bid on/buy anymore cards until I spoke with the post office and figured out what the hell was going on. If anything, they might not find out who did it but it could get the guy doing it a little hesitant to do it again.

Simple, go the PO and do the manuel DC. It sucks if the Post man is ripping him off, maybe he has asked nicely before and the shipper ignored him and he lost out on cards because of it. I would just go the the Post office and ship as he requested, you never know he may just become a happy repeat customer, which is a good thing.

Well I mailed it as he requested (some of you guys  were killing me) It's a $17 dollar card so it's not the biggest risk ever.

If there are any shenanigans with the transaction I will out the member in this thread. If not then I'll let him remain in anonymity.

I did email him back and told him he should mention all of that to the seller BEFORE he bids
