What does a GEM MINT grade do for an extremely rare card (Jeter)?

Customer just got this back.

There's only two graded, this one and an 8.5

An extremely rare card to start with so what does the grade do?

Normally I don't think it helps too much but a rare Jeter and big money gem collectors can throw logic out the window as this might actually add to the "gotta have it" mentality. It's a beautiful card

I've asked this many times over. IMO it's like who gives a shiiiit. To answer your question though, it probably does a lot.

Anywhere Delta goes.
It adds a piece of mind that it is protected. I don't think that monetarily it adds a whole bunch.

If it was a PSA 10 it would help it a whole lot more than BGS 9.5. Jeter collectors are nuts to begin with, add in the fact that its seems like a competition between collectors to have the best Jeter Registry on PSA website and it can help a ton. Just check out some sales of base cards that are graded PSA 10 with low pop reports. Its kinda crazy.
