I block bidders all of the time. I dont know if this is counter productive or not.

Here is today's entry.

Guy offered $5 on a card I put up for $8...I would've taken it but I see he retracted the offer then offered $3.50....

I am usually automatic on adding bidder to the block list who retracts a bid who doesn't have a legitimate reason.

What do you add bidders for?

I don't mind if a guy retacts a bid. I would not ban him for that. May have less funds than he thought, won something he did not expect to, ect. I have retracted offers also. I have banned bidders who offer $5 on something I have listed for $75. I hate that! Big waste of time, although other potential buyers see there were offers made.

A buyer (mr. looney I call him) placed a best offer on 4 cards I had listed. In a week's span he retracted and offered probably about 25 times all told (thus the name Mr. looney). I could have blocked him, but then why would I ever block a potential customer? No matter how big or how small.....maybe the guy who buys a card for $5 from me remembers me and goes out of his way to bid up (he doesn't even know he is doing me the favor) when football season rolls around.....why take that chance in such a thin economy?

To make a long story short Mr. Looney bought $800 worth of cards the other day and paid immediately.

I strongly disagree. If I want a card (happened the other day) I see something listed for $50.....I see two offers on the card and think....boy I better come to the table with a good offer instead of 30 I offered 35....I still lost but you can see the mentality it perceives with even an experienced buyer.

I will block for any amount of reasons. Retractions are one of them, non payment of course, guys that I know resell at a big profit ;). I know who they are...I am not into for the cash so the last thing I want is a guy with deep pockets buying up my gear and making the avg joe pay way over what it should go. Unless it is seller that I need to work with for my items as well..
It is a free world block as you see fit. In my case I am a buyer so if I block someone I really don't care what they complain about
