What does "PC" mean to you??

I've always used it to mean "Permanent Collection" or assumed some used it as "Player Collection"

mansmac in another thread offered these options: "What does PC stand for in your mind? Private collection? Personal collection? Something else?"

Personal Collection.
Once in a while my wife "pretends" to like what I spend most of time after work on. She calls it "bonding time" (right, we need this after 22 years of marriage). I, of course breaks out the SECOND set of my PC and keep the FIRST set alone. I don't think she knows about the first set or maybe she's just as happy to see the second set. After an hour or so, just like clock work, she'll drag my behind to take her out to dinner to continue our "bonding time". After dinner, I'm golden for a couple of weeks.

Same here, always thought it was personal collection. Something I collect for my own enjoyment or reasons and 99.8% sure it's not going anywhere unless I decide so later on. Any offers for such cards will be met with laughter or a snickering no thanks.. Just depends on if I like ya

Personal collection first and foremost. Secondly, if you collect a certain player, I've also taken it to mean player collection. But your player collection would be your personal collection so as others have said, it's pretty much all the same.

I've always assumed it stood for "personal collection" though those words obviously mean different things to different people. For me it's about finding cards and items I enjoy owning, but knowing that there's a good chance that I will sell them at some point in time. I enjoy the hobby but could not afford to put much money into it if I did not expect to be able to cash out when needed. So for the "PC" items (usually late 90's/early 00's rare auto's and game used as well as established player RC Auto's and recently moved towards items that combine baseball and general history like the ***** Leagues and military etc.) I collect what I enjoy, but also try to buy cards that I believe will appreciate in value. When cards spike or when I could use the cash I sell and generally over time find other cards (or another copy of the same card) to replace it with down the line.

I've always used it has personal collection. Could also see player collection as a valid choice as well.

That is a term I try not to use, mainly because it is odd to me. Everything in my collection is owned by me, thus it is all my personal collection. I may decide to get rid of items at some point, but they are still mine until that happens. It would seem that anything you intend to part with easily (trade material) is not part of your "personal collection" in most people's definition. Now I could see people who are consigning things for someone else needing to differentiate between their personal collection and the consignment items. In that case, the term seems more fitting.

I would agree though that it seems that most people who use the term consider it to be a "personal collection".
