Having to put DC on 90% of your packages. With the market I have, I can't afford to do that.
It is $.18 extra. Is your market the homeless?
Sent from my VS840 4G using Sports Cards by Freedom Card Board.com
It's not .18 extra. It's anywhere from $0.59 to $1.20 extra for me. 80-85% of what I ship is either in a PWE or a first class bubble mailer for 90 cents or $1.10. And I ship out anywhere from 300-400 orders a week. So that would be an extra $300-400 a week, if not more, spent in shipping if I were to use DC on every order. Not to mention I wouldn't make any money on the cards I sell for $1-2, I would lose money. I offer free shipping and I always will (which I believe is another requirement for Power Sellers, not 100% sure on that though).
I really only sell base cards of recently released products but there were long time sellers that made a living selling base cards on ebay that simply chose to leave b/c they lost their power seller status due to the new DC rule. They had to pay more fees and it wasn't worth their time.
I stayed b/c I'm able to take the extra 2% hit in fees every month, even though it sucks. It's an extra $250 every month for me right now simply b/c I don't use DC.
I use PayPal shipping and its $1.64 to ship a mailer with Delivery Confirmation.
Only thing I hate about eBay is that my cards dont list themselves. I dont mind the fees because there is no way Id be able to sell my stuff without eBay.
