Peaks-
Texas A&M winning the Big XII Championship my freshman year and going to a BCS bowl (even though we got whipped by Ohio State.)
The Aggies finally fielding a competitive basketball team.
Becoming an Orioles fan after the Astros disappointed me year after year. Even though they're no better than the Disastros, they are a much better team to support and get behind.

Valleys-
Finding out the hard way that A&M in a BCS bowl is the exception not the rule.
Dennis Franchione.
77-0 vs Oklahoma in 2003.
Loss to Arkansas State in Kyle Field a couple of years ago.

Highest peak:
Ruslan Fedotenko scoring Tampa Bay's only two goals in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to win The Cup as I watched from the waiting room in the hospital as my mom was having surgery. Just 5 or so minutes after the conclusion, the doc came out and told us she was fine in recovery. I watched that whole game on a 10 inch tv while eating vending machine food, drinking coffee, and laying back on a few armless chairs put together.

Other peaks in no order :
Dallas Cowboys' three Super Bowl wins in the 90s (especially SB *** against Pittsburgh)
Duke's National Championship this year
Miami Hurricanes football national title in 2001
Chicago White Sox World Series

Valleys in no order:
The Orlando Magic right now.
Jimmy Johnson no longer coaching the Dallas Cowboys.
Vinny Testaverde retiring.
Frank Thomas no longer being a White Sock.
The Johnstown Chiefs leaving Johnstown.

Peaks-
All 3 Pats super bowls, but the first one most of all because they were huge underdogs and it was the first in franchise history.
Both Sox WS titles but more so the first one because, well I'm sure you can figure out why.
Villanova going to the final four last year
Pats going 18-0

Valleys-
Pats losing SB to Giants (still haven't and probably will never get over this one)
Aaron Boone and all the other Sox blowups
Manning being gifted SB MVP after the dreaded Colts finally got over the hump by beating the worst NFC Super Bowl team in history (still bitter about this one, clearly)

As an Indians fan, the peak was probably in '07 when they beat the Yankees in the ALDS and went up 3-1 over the Red Sox in the ALCS. I was then immediatly was plummetted into the deepest valley I've ever had as a sports fan.

After all, I grew up cheering for Rickey. Life as a sportsfan was full of peak after peak with nary a valley to be found.

Peak:

96-98

I had the pleasure of watching #23 put on a show on a nightly basis, plus Kentucky went to the Championship game 3 straight years and was an overtime away from a 3 peat.

It's been a valley ever since.

Huge valley today when my favorite player was pulled with a shoulder injury (usually career-threatening) after 2 1/3 innings. He never had an arm injury before. Oh well. :(

Peak as a Purdue fan:

8:30 left in the first half in our game at Minnesota this year. Cruising to another easy road win.

Valley:

7:30 left in the first half in our game at Minnesota this year. Robbbie Hummel writhing on the floor after just tearing his ACL. I still maintain the National Title would have easily been ours had he been healthy.

BLAH...........

That image of him tearing his ACL still haunts me.
