How much do you all think these cards book if they were actually made?
Realistically, nearly all of these COULD have been produced, but were not.

1. 1992 Topps Traded U.S.A. Alex Rodriguez
2. 1993 Finest Jeter
3. 1993 Finest Refractor Jeter
4. 1997 Bowman Chrome Ortiz ( list value from 2006 or 2007)
5. 2000 Bowman Draft AUTO Pujols (wow, think how this would have changed the Hobby)

Why would that change the hobby when the 2001 Auto didn't? Wouldn't that just become the most sought after Pujols card and lessening the value of the 01?

If he had a 2000 BDP auto, he wouldnt have had a 2001 BC auto. You think the 01 BC auto Pujols DIDNT change the Hobby?
Anyway, the 00 BDP autos were parallels of base cards in the set so he would have had ONLY ONE rookie and ONE auto rookie.

The set also has MANY autos of guys drafted BEFORE 2000, like Lackey etc as well as FA signings.

Yes; good point.

Imagine if Topps took a flyer on such a low draft pick and put him in 1999 Topps Traded (and these message boards were around). Everyone would've been screaming for Topps' head on a stick for doing so.

2001 Topps Heritage Chrome Pujols or Ichiro /552 would be $1000 cards, at minimum.

I'm no prospector, but $1000 seems too high for a card with that high of a production with no auto or swatch. Are there any modern cards that sell that high with that high of a serial number and no auto or swatch?

Here's one from a couple of nights ago. Stars sell for $50-$100. Jeters, Arods, and Griffeys a little more. It's a pretty popular set. Between the set builders, the rookie collectors, and the player collectors, 552 isn't enough to go around.

Better yet, what if Chase Utley didn't have a 2001 Bowman Heritage RC and instead had a 2002 BC Auto...I'd have chased those like crazy.

That'd be another biggie.
'93 Finest Refractor Jeter would be Lebron Exquisite /99 esque.

I like to think about this kind of stuff too! I personally believe a 93 finest Jeter RC would have made that perticular card one of the biggest cards in the hobby given the stature of the 93 Finest and the Jeter name. I could easily see the base at $200 - $300 and the refractors at $3,000 - $5,000 or more!

I'll throw a few more out there too!

I would have loved to see an 84' Donruss Gooden, Clemens, and Puckett! Perhaps even a Maddux? An 84' Donruss Maddux would be off the hook!
