Here were all the recent ended cases.

Looks like getting it at $500 can happen.

Note to those that are dumping large lots: don't end you auctions right on top of others. If yours ends and then another of yours ends right away, it can really only go down if there are others still out there. As one customer is satisfied, another won't have to compete against him (hence, lowering the price).

I think it will be at $450 by the end of the day, lots of cases ending at the same time and cases were hitting $490 last night. If there were only 2-3 ending today, it would be in the $525 range, but with so many ending I think its in the $450-475 range.

One thing that gets lost in this debate is that these are really nice cards, and at any price approaching Topps Chrome, that's a great deal. I suppose for those in it for the money, it's not a big deal, but I really like this years design, and it should look great all chromed-up.

Oh yeah, wouldn't it be nice if Bing had the 30% cashback at eBay again? :)

if there was a bing 30% almost nobody would be listing in auction format and case prices would be holding up a lot better.

Any dealers or store owners out there? Care to divulge what cost is on a case/box of bowman chrome? I know many people are saying BC is going to keep dropping, but I can't see it drop below what people paid for it. Say Atlanta bought them for $400 per case, I just don't see them going for $350. Even TC appears to have leveled out around the $400 range.

And if they do go below cost, I don't think it's intentional. I'm guessing they are just trying to recover money lost in this product, rather than leave money tied up in hundreds of cases. I'm just curious what the profit margins are on boxes/cases.

Cost is over $625 a case. Atlanta is losing on every single case they sell, along with every other seller. Blowout is also losing on every case, everyone is.

Why would it ever be intentional???

Why are so many people listing so many cases right now?

THAT has caused the big drop in price, not a lack of quality of the product or anything like that. Just completely stupid by dealers, flooding the market loses them a lot of money.

So far 1 particular seller did most of the dumping, about 40 cases via 1 day auctions to get rid of them first. 35 cases have been ending per day, tomorrow only 4 will end. I actually think its stabilizes the price for a while until another seller decides to dump inventory.

I'll be honest though, I picked up a handful of cases.

I see it going back up honestly, there's just no way this is only a $450 product IMO. I say it gets back to at least $500 if not more once there stop being 25 case auctions ending every day.

obviously many dealers have a lot of cases and can't afford to sit on them. they have to move them for whatever they can get to keep cash flow going. they have no choice but to dump.

it's also a certainty that big distributers are dumping cases any way they can, and the price would have crashed no matter what end-dealers did with their preordered cases.

blame topps. blame big distributers. don't blame dealers.

Except that dealers are partly to blame. The distributor orders are based on pre orders from dealers.

The price may have dropped a little bit, but there's no way it drops $200+ in two weeks if there had only been 5 cases listed per week instead of 50. Simple economics say that when supply exceeds demand, price goes down. This is an obvious case of that.

The product is 1 week old. Demand goes down too.
