I'm not too well versed with basketball, but I know that Exquisite cards can be pretty condition sensitive. I was wondering what was considered acceptable? I got a Rondo Exquisite (scan below) where there top right corner has some damage. I was people you guys could help me out on whether this is ok or not (personally for me I don't really care, but I am worried about potential resale.)

Thanks in advance.

The Rondo I got from Secote isn't in the best shape either. For me it's a PC card so I'm not too worried, and am just happy to finally own a copy. I guess if you're planning on reselling it would be to someone who is buying it for PC as well. Chances are the buyer won't have a ton of options to chose from and will just have to take the condition for what it is.

Nice card.

Do you think it would not affect resale price? The scan did not show any damage (not sure how that happened, but I looked with major magnification.) This is the fourth one I picked up from him and the other three, while not mint, only have more minor damage.

It certainly could, but I think a lot depends on what the buyer has to choose from. If there are 5-10 to choose from and 5 buyers then it will hurt it. If there are 5 on ebay and 100 people trying to buy then I don't think it will hurt it too much.

Edges and corners have been one of the consistent problems with Exquisite, especially with the use of a lot of dark colored borders. Nice card!

I recognize this, which is why I am asking. Do you think the top right corner is damaged enough for it to be an issue? (Personally I think it is, simply because the damage is quite visible.)

If you are planning on selling then make sure you disclose it to protect yourself. I'm sure someone will use this as a reason to pay less for it. Any way to get a better scan of the damage?

I'll have to try. I assumed this was the answer and am awaiting a response from the seller to see how to proceed. The scan did not show any damage which was one of the reasons I went for it.

Now I get it. If the seller didn't disclose the visible damage then I would contact the seller and try to negotiate with them. If not then file through paypal. Hard to say since they probably don't pop up very often and I'm sure you plan on holding onto it.

Seller has a ton of them. At one point he owned something like 175 of the 225 and he's selling out now, so I know he has others to replace it. This is the fourth one I've picked up so while I'd love a replacement if he's not willing to do that I may just take a refund. Guess we'll see what happens. The deal was off eBay (though through the CC through Paypal) but I like to assume he will be cordial about the issue.

Ok, now I have figured out who you got it from. I would just contact him about a replacement.

I did and (got my response subsequently) he's been very good to deal with. I originally asked the question because I wondered if this was considered something that was to be expected on such a card.

I think the damage is an issue on resale value as well. Exquisite is well known for some minor chipping on edges and corners but NOT for major corner dings like this. If the ding is that noticeable with a scan i can just imagine what it is like in person. Did u get the correct serial number (That was in the auction) from secote, if you didn't notice the damage in the auction photo? What type of case did he ship it in?

Take 15-20% off regular sale price for this dinged card, imo.

sorry.

Seller has been amenable to me sending it back, so no worries here. I imagine someone (on his end) dropped the card after it was scanned since the holder was good and the numbering was right. Was shipped securely as well.

Yep, send it back to the guy.

I'm sure he is dumping his worst copies and keeping the best ones.
He seems to be selling all.
