This thought popped in my head today when I received a 1997 Topps Jeter Autograph in a PWE, luckily unharmed from the shipping process.

What is the most valuable card you have received in a PWE?

Hoping not to see too many high-end cards, but I am sure it is inevitable! :(

2001 Donruss Signature Mark Teixeira Proof auto /25. Was roughly a $400 card then. Shipped from Japan in a PWE, not even in a toploader (think it was wrapped in one layer of tissue paper) but miraculously arrived undamaged.

I once received an '05 Playoff Portraits Triple Swatch Olerud in a PWE. No penny sleeve, no toploader; just the card in the envelope. You probably can guess how that turned out!

Doesn't really compare to some of these, but I once bought a Don Mattingly IP auto card and the guy sent it PWE in just a penny sleeve. Luckily it survived.

I still remember 1/1 Tom Glavine Dk recollection auto. Came in PWE no top loader but did have a penny sleeve that was taped. I was so happy that it dint get damaged that I couldn't get as mad as I should have been at the seller.

Not baseball, but a 2003 Leaf Certified Materials FOTG Auto Patch of Cris Carter in a thick BGS slab. Came in a PWE wrapped in packing tape. No tracking.

Unfortunately, more than I was hoping to see

At least most arrived in good shape! Can't believe there are sellers willing to just ship higher-end cards without any form of protection, delivery confirmation, etc...

Fortunately, it came with a bat card and some base, which may have saved the card. The only damage was from putting the card in a semi rigid. No image in the listing, simply described as a "7 color patch" or something.

Not a PWE, but still the same, received an un-padded manila envelope with a BGS slab - 1999 UD View to a Thrill Quadruple /10 of Bernie Williams just last week. Somehow survived with only a small stress "star" crack on the label. Haven't decided if I should complain.

I must be lucky because I have been buying on eBay for years and have never received a card in a PWE.

Received a few cards in pwe. Most expensive was probably one of my HOF legendary cuts autos. Can't remember which one but it was in a penny sleeve taped to a thin cardboard backer. If I remember correctly I bought it for >$60 with $2-3 shipping
