What is the most amazing sports event crowd that you were a part of?

1999 All Star Game at Fenway Park. A great set of players, but most importantly, the last real public appearance of Ted Williams. Magic night all around. Pedro mowed em down when they got to playing.

Mine would be the 2003 college football game where Toledo defeated 9th ranked Pittsburgh at home. The Rockets won the game with a late 4th quarter drive and the student fans rushed the field and tore down both goal posts (I was visiting my brother, a UT student, for the weekend). I remember standing underneath a goal post when the weight of people hanging off the crossbar caused the post to snap at the base (it sounded like a cannon firing). We carried both goal posts out of the stadium, dumping one over a bridge into the Ottawa River. Two students were seriously injured and it helped pave the way for stricter collegiate rules concerning rushing the field and not tearing down goal posts.

10,000 fans in the largest high school basketball area in the world for easily the greatest game I've ever seen.

Not even close.

In my opinion nothing in high school athletics can compare to some of the great games played at the Wigwam and the Fieldhouse! =)

Joe Paterno's 409th (and last, and record-breaking) win as a college head coach. He was fired before the next week's game because, well, you know.

Pretty incredible game, in which Penn State won, 10-7. It was snowing ... heavy. Illinois started to move the ball down field with like one minute left before attempting a game-tying field goal as time expired.

Everyone in the stadium started running - in the snow - toward the end zone to distract the kicker from behind the goal post. Sure enough, he missed the field goal.

Jim Abbott's no-hitter was incredible. Every pitch after the fifth inning felt like a do-or-die scenario.

Strasburg's debut here in DC was incredible as well. That park had never had a buzz like that for anybody. It was amazing.
