The line you quoted had nothing to do with anything but the fact you like to make yourself out to be some tough guy throwing out lines like '---- off' and 'get off my nuts' etc. I can GUARANTEE you wouldn't say ANY of this to my face. Maybe these internet scare tactics are cool in Kaintucee or at that high school you attend, but in the 'real world' sometimes your mouth can write checks that your body can't cash. Not sure where you're getting the stalker remark from. I just happen to remember a few of you guys who made Montero threads everyday the last couple of years. You were one of those guys fueling that fire to dump a stash and seemed to be in the middle of everyone of those Montero is God threads. I seriously laughed at your post, guess I got under your skin a little, which means maybe the guy calling the pot out should look in the mirror at how upset they can get over cardboard.

I've been on FCB since early 2010, so I can't speak for what happened before then-but since I came on here, there was never a time with all of these Montero threads you speak of. No more than any other top prospect. So you are grossly exaggerating here.

Speaking as a Mariner homer who watches most of the games (as many as I can without puking) I can say Montero has a ways to go to reach his ceiling. However, the talent that had prospectors drooling for years is absolutely present.
This kid has serious strength and lots of in-game power. He doesn't need to square up a ball to hit a homer. Jesus has shown the ability to hit bombs oppo in Safeco, which is a rare quality in most RH hitters. Something that Beltre could never do in Seattle even though he showed that ability in LA, but vintage Texas A-Rod always had. As a catcher, I've seen him get crossed up, look foolish trying to block pitches in the dirt, take 5 minutes to throw the ball to second on a steal, and make feeble attempts at tags at the plate to prevent runs. On the other hand, he caught a no-hitter with 6 different pitches, and seems to be getting better with each start.
The real weakness of Montero is his approach. He isn't selective and doesn't wait for his pitch or work counts to get his pitch. Like many international free agents, he thinks he can hit everything thrown his way and often tries to. It'd be foolish to make any long term judgement on how good or bad he is going to be in his rookie year, but it's what fans do with every player.
If Jesus makes some serious adjustments in his approach he can be as good a hitter as he wants to be. The power is legit and he's still an incredible talent. Whether he reaches his lofty ceiling will depend on his ability to make proper adjustments.
