buy a $5 card, (which was just at or above the going rate). you pay about three days later. the seller emails you about 3 days after payment and tells you he left for school and forgot to mail the card. before sending the email, he refunds you the full purchase price and apologizes.
do you leave the seller a positive, negative, neutral, and what do you say in your f/b?

the seller has 100% fb with over 700 transactions)

edit- wanted to get opinions without people knowing i was the seller. yeah, i was the seller... and he left me a neutral ::facepalm::

I wouldnt leave feedback...

or you can just say the seller had good communication and easy to deal with, or something like that and leave positive.

Positive or no feedback.

Usually, a honest mistake does not warrant bad feedback.

I always feel better with the assumption that little things happen. He refunded your money promptly and even apologized. This was clearly not a transaction that ended badly.

No neg or neut for sure. Positive if you feel like it, since he was courteous and apologetic and that might deserve something. Or no feedback at all. If you do leave feedback, give him 5 stars for communication and leave the others blank.

Have to agree here

Youre not out anything, you got an apology and your money back.

Sometimes things really do happen and sellers arent all scumbags.

Sounds like he made an honest mistake, and ruining his 100% fb over a $5 card which you got your money back for, doesnt seem right

I say be lucky you got a neutral (and that it was only a $5 card).

Yes, at least you refunded the money, but you couldn't have had someone at home pack it and ship it? Or even send it to you and then have you ship it from school?

you hate to ruin someones perfect feedback, especially when they have a great track record. Forgetfulness is
not an excuse though. I would have a problem with someone saying they are going to buy a card and then
not paying until 3 days later, if they told me I had to wait, then cool, but usually when I sell, I expect payment
within 24 hours. Likewise, I try to ship the next day or day after that, unless its a busy week and I always
well the buyer that.

I have had a problem with people making offers on cards and then backing out.

I have given up leaving feedback on ebay any more...it just seems pointless.
You're a funny enough person, have some fun with it.

Feedback rarely needs to be serious as the text is mostly meaningless.

Here are some examples for people to use and abuse.

"A man once raced a goat. He lost. He then ate the goat. A+"
"Value Meal #5 please. Yes, 'super-sized.' Thank you. Recommended."
"I don't know the difference between a porpoise and a dolphin. A++"
"I haven't taken a math class in almost 20 years, but this seller is great!"
"I recommend Jiffy Lube for oil changes. Recommended seller. A+"
"Hee e e e, the lion sleeps tonight."
"Ah weem ah whep, ah weem ah whep."
"Leprosy can be cured with treatments of bacon wrapped filets."
"I met someone new today. Pretty interesting."
"Kids who were born in the 90s are carrying guns in Afghanistan."
"Why is having two left feet a bad thing? Is having two right feet more rare?"
"To me the word 'owlet' is the cutest in the English language. A+ seller."

Dude, he forgot. I also forgot once (before leaving for vacation) and i consider myself VERY professional.

And for the OP, i won't leave a feedback, or will leave a positive. You have been honest and that's the mean point.

People should pay within 18 hours of saying a sale is a sale. That's the rules.

Leaving negative or neutral feedback is a bitch move.

He should have kept your money, and told you that he'll ship when he gets back.

I leave a positive. When that happens to me, and I am the buyer, I say:

"Thanks for the prompt refund"

I bought something a cpla years ago on Ebay. Can't even remember what it was, but there was a defect with it that I'm sure the seller didn't notice or maybe he sent the wrong card. Returned it, got refund. I left positive feedback with something like "Seller had an error but fixed it quickly. Would buy from again."

To me, that's what feedback is supposed to do - to help people know more about a seller. Hey, this guy messed up BUT he took care of it quickly and professionally and I didn't have to send 6 emails just to get him to reply.

That means more than "A+++" as the only feedback left, I would think.

Yes, yes I do. For auctions and stuff like that, I understand, but when it's Buy-It-Now, or "Accept Counter offer", It's lame to not pay right away. You're at your computer, so what's the problem?

I absolutely despise waiting on someone to pay, especially if it's purchased on a Tuesday and not paid until Friday afternoon. Then the card doesn't go out until Monday and the buyer's all confused why it took an extra 3 days to ship it.

Same goes for sellers that charge more than cost to ship an item. If you're going to make 3 dollars profit on "shipping", the damn thing should be shipped out the next day.
