I was on the AOL board's & used to host my own email auction's with several hundred lot's/item's per auction (I made a KILLING off of those) & would post those to the board's & email it to those whom requested them...Problem with AOL is that if someone turns you in for SPAM you can get your account terminated after 3 strikes (& I'm guessing it was an auction competitor whom got me TOS'd off AOL because I removed everyone who requested to be removed from my mailing list's). I believe the board's were something like: rec.collecting.sport.baseball.trading cards (or something like this & it changed per sport). Ahhh, the good ol' day's!!! :D

Back in 1991 through about 1993 I was on the old rec.collecting.cards news group before it split into

rec.collecting.cards.baseball
rec.collecting.cards.basketball
etc.
