I really wanted to be into this set when it was announced, but I just can't. The design is ugly - it looks like Donruss ate all of its previous designs and then threw them up on 1978 Topps....

I'm a guy who likes "value for the box" as much as the next guy, but I don't think the folks ripping this stuff are as worried about the "hits" as much as the cool-looking inserts, parallels, etc.

For what the Srp is, it looks good.

I wish though that they had included a massive extremely low numbered insert set like exhibits or sportscaster.

Yeah, first thing I thought is it's a blatant ripoff of the '78 Topps design with the script on the bottom left.
Couldn't Panini come up with an original design, or something from Donruss? Not Topps.
