What should have been with Contenders Patches

I had no idea those were manufactured patches. 
Makes sense now as I saw what I thought to be a nasty patch on a Wall rc and was wondering why everyone was saying it was horrible.......so makes sense.
It is kind of tough though because the photo-shoot jersey's can be equally as lame.....as I've heard stories of them having players throw jersey's on and off, probably wearing them less than a minute to say they were "used". Or if anyone saw the UD pics from the football one, they had jersey's with TONS of patches all over it......basically creating patch cards for themselves.
I suppose that is a different argument though.....because while I described that as "lame" using the manufactured patches is horrible for all the reasons you gave and more. They should have just built on last year's design.......it's worked for football. I think it would have been the same for basketball and the Contenders brand.
They probably could/should have used that design for Rookies & Stars or something. Would have seemed to fit into that brand and found a small following without upsetting as many people.
