I know these threads are dumb but nonetheless I have found them to be useful in the past.
Hope by next Friday to have raised enough for a nice break.
Would rather be breaking some high end stuff but don't have money for that.
Been leaning towards choice #1 but I need someone to talk me out of it if you know its going to be awful.

1. 2006 Topps Series 1 Retail case (about $150 on-card autos but just 2 hits out of 3500 cards almost same odds as hobby, and I would do series 2 next)
2. 2007 Topps Chrome Retail case (about $215 about one auto per case some nice colored refractors 192 packs)
3. 2008 Topps Chrome Blaster case ($200 I've been craving Topps chrome 128 packs)
4. Indiana Jones Heritage case (about $220 sketch cards and autos)
5. None of the above

None of that stuff is worth the money. Get Ultimate.

The '07 Chrome has some great looking parallels, as does '08. Fun to open these in retail. Autos are a possibility as well.

I second this motion. I havent even busted any yet and I would vote this in all day.

If its not an option at all, then try the 2008 Chrome

I'm looking for a break where I can collate after

Ultimate would be done in less then 5 minutes these retail cases last at least a weekend

I went through some old monster boxes the other night and found some 2004 Topps chrome refractors that looked awesome

What does a case of '06 Topps Update go for ? Or what about Bowman Draft '07 ?

I voted for the '06 Topps, but if Update was in the same neighborhood, I'd be more inclined to see that :P

I can only find hobby cases of 06 update ($365) , want to order this Friday (payday) so its nearly crunch time.

I have a Beckett from 2006 that has very detailed insertion rates for Topps series 1 and 2 and the odds are the same or better retail over hobby (which is evil)

What about the Alex Gordon cards?

There are Brain Cashman and Theo Epstein autos in there

this is what the autos look like

Do either the Topps Series 1 or the Update, especially since nobody else seems to be chiming in :(

Oh, and I have a vauge idea what the Topps Auto's look like ;) :P ...

Thanks again for the help

Last Friday I ordered the 2006 Topps Series one case, then on the weekend I made a really good sale and now have the Indiana Jones case on the way also.

So this weekend is looking to be a two case weekend
