Alright so I just saw this was posted on Ebay. He just changed the price from $2,000 to $2,500. I assume that the jersey was worn in his first career win and his two other road outings in 2001. As much as I want the jersey, I cannot pay $2,500, what should I do? My birthday is this week, and I need to get myself a present :D A normal Zambrano Game Used Jersey gets about $700.Thanks!

Offer a lower price off ebay and remind him of the fees he'll be saving.

A mcgwire rookie jearsey sold a few months ago for $2,100.

I wouldn't touch it until it came up for real auction or the seller drops the BIN big time.

Offer him the Ruth jumbo in trade...or sell the Ruth jumbo and put the earnings from that towards that jersey.

Happy birthday.

I agree that the starting price is way too high. I think that I would pay about $1,000 and about $1,200 if I got really desperate

I would offer lower and maybe have a few auctions to compare it to.

What quad custom are you making?

I am still working on the design, but this is what I have right now:

There's no way I'd pay it either. I have two Hafner 2001 rookie jerseys -- a season in which he saw limited action as well. Of the two, the one that I picked up most recently cost me $190 and change when it was listed auction-style, and it came with a COA from the Texas Rangers.

I'd definitely wait it out. Whatever the case, good luck. That definitely deserves to be a part of your amazing collection.

As a seller I never take off ebay offers. I've only done it twice and both times I was ripped off by people with amazing feedback.

Well it looks like I won't be getting it. I asked if he would consider a lower offer. His response:
Sorry but no chance, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to part with it.
I guess I will have to settle for another pair of Z cleats on MLB auctions :D

If you have a DC aren't you covered based on PayPal's TOS?

As a buyer I've done this many many many times and it works out great for both parties.

That a serious piece of memorabilia there, like that is something i could see in the HOF one day. Baseball gamers seem like they are really "cheap" compared to Hockey gamers. I dunno, it seems like this could be a "once in a lifetime" opportunity. I would do whatever it takes, to land that jersey. I would start "talks" with the seller and see how much he will come down.
