What to do when they ship 16+ days after you paid? UPDATE

I recently got a 2010 Jason Heyward BC auto via BIN and paid for it on the 12th.

I contacted them on the 17th and they said they only ship on Friday's and Saturday's.

Well they just now entered in the DC number today (Wednesday the 23rd).

Should I leave a neutral feedback or just leave it alone after I receive the card?

i just had a similar issue. used buy it now to win a manny patch card. paid on the 4th of march, contacted seller asking for delivery confirmation on the 20th, seller responds that dc is at home and never contacts me again, card arrived today with a foreign post mark (but arizona addy) and stamped date of the 18th. the card arrived as promised in a very secure manner so i left positive feedback with dsr of 5 for item description, 3 for communication, 2 for time of shipping, none for cost since it was free.

i think as long as you get what you paid for you have to leave feedback but you should grade the dsr accordingly!

yeah i will probably do 3 stars shipping and 3 on communication...they responded, but they also said they only send on fridays and saturdays and ended up sending on wednesday

Give 1 star on shipping time. 12 days is ridiculous. That 'we only ship on day X' is BS, especially since they apparently missed it the first week. You sell a card, you ship when you get paid. What are you doing every other day, curing cancer?

I'm going to disagree on a couple of things here.

1. I would not give anyone a 1 or 2 unless it was really bad (say a month) because of the way eBay now handles low ratings. With eBay not allowing people to sell based on a few low ratings, I have no interest in being the one who got a guy booted simply because he was a few days late (we all know how busy life can get.) A 3 would send the message IMO, without risking getting him removed.

2. If the seller lists his shipping methods up front, even if he says he ships only on the 1st of the month, I don't have a problem with that. It's my decision as a buyer whether to buy or not, but I think it is irrelevant what he is doing the rest of his life and I knew what I was getting myself into.

I operate on the whole do unto others as you'd want them to do unto you principle, so I usually give the high rating regardless. It's really not that huge a deal, sometimes people forget. I only ding people if they are being dishonest with me.

When the seller states they ship on X day of every week, and then doesn't ship your item, what exactly would you call that?

I happen to completely agree with this statement. People need to get over themselves. The world does not revolve around any one individual and there are circumstances that can prevent people from being able to ship an item. This is a baseball card - not life and death!

I'm not trying to rip the OP - it's the concept in general. Is it worth getting yourself (meaning any individual, not the OP specifically) worked up over and wondering what you should do? Should you even dedicate that much effort into thinking about it?

I get it - you're eager to get the item you paid for. I totally understand, but maybe there was a reason for the delay and I'd give the seller the benefit of the doubt. I don't need to ruin his reputation over it. If I lapsed on an item or forgot about it once in a blue moon, I'd like like to think the buyer would be understanding. I know I'm understanding when someone buys an item and takes two weeks to pay me for it. I don't write in the feedback took forever to pay. Life goes on and there are bigger issues in life (my life anyway), so I just let it go.

If the card gets to you as promised...I say let this one go....I had a recent pwe shipper, I didn't ding him because the card showed up in the same condition it would have in a bubble mailer....so what he got over on me for about $2 on the shipping....if you are really mad about the deal just don't leave feedback at all....

Yeah I think a 3 star will suffice. They did not mention anywhere in the auction about only shipping Fridays and Saturdays, only after I sent them a message. That is why I am giving them a 3 star on communication as well. Not that big of a deal but still pretty annoying.

EDIT: Still no record of item when i look up the DC number...arggg

I'd still leave a positive if I received the item as described.
To me that's still the most important thing.

If I was dissatisfied with other aspects - I'd then use the stars for that. I guess how many stars is up to personal preference. Personally if there is only one thing wrong, other factors influence if I ding stars......such as communication, packaging, etc.
The whole star system is a joke with unreasonable expectations imo........if you were honestly grading by what the stars are supposed to represent I'd think it should be around a 2......but everyone seems to view it in a different way, so as I said it's up to you.

IMO it's silly to look at their definitions and not the reality. While eBay claims a 3 is average, they get people in trouble for schores under 4.5 which obviously means that in their eyes, 4.5 is not up to par. Seems pretty harsh to possibly get someone booted of eBay because a few people gave them "below average" ratings for delayed shipping. I know it's a pain to wait, but if it was in person as opposed to anonymously over the internet, I think a lot of people would reconsider.

so the DC number they put up last week still says no record of item... :evil: i opened a CAN..i mean case
