You can donate them to local youth organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, your churches, hospitals, or schools. Just contact those institutions and ask them if they accept cards. Other than that, you could always make up grab bags and sell them at flea markets or something like that.

If it is new stuff divide them into team lots and sell the better teams on ebay. I bet the more popular teams like Yanks, Red Sox, Cubs, Phillies etc. would sell pretty well.

Here's a novel idea: keep them, look at the cool pictures, read the backs, maybe build sets.
You have the amount that would fit in a 5,000-count monster box that fits under your bed, so it's not like they be in the way making a mess.
Why do so many "collectors" want to get rid of their commons?
What happened to people actually enjoying base cards and reading stats?
I apologize for picking on you, and it's nothing personal.
It just seems that so many people these days just grab the inserts and never look at their base cards.

When I do shows, I put the commons in boxes and sell them for 1 cent each. If someone asks about the whole box, I usually quote them a price of $20-35, depending on how many are left in there.

Are any of them of star players or are all of them no namers?I too do not understand the need to get rid of them.Personally I understand different strokes for different folks but jeez...just remember there are collectors who do appreciate common cards.I collected cards when there were no inserts.May make me sound old but I love it.
