I am having a friend take this glove down to spring training to try and get it autographed by a certain player..

Since it's regular leather, what pen should I send him down with and where should I have hime autograph it?

Here's the glove...

Im not sure what type of pen is used to sign on leather like that but if that is a Griffey gamer glove, i dont think i would get it signed, personally.

It's a first baseman glove that he used in practice only.. Got it thru a guy named Buhner.. :o

MagicP, I am also sending down your card to see if I can get it signed as well.. Ya never know.. And yes that would make a damn good B-Day present, so keep your fingers crossed..

Find a similar type of leather glove at a Goodwill or Salvation Army shop and experiment with markers. Sharpie, paint pens--different types--gold, silver, you really should experiment and see what looks best to the eye. Blue Sharpie always seems to look best on bats (Silver on black bats), blue ballpoint on balls, etc. Glove leather is a different thing. Leather is porous, but it is coated differently, so Sharpie shouldn't bleed, like it can on a baseball. (different leather) I think a regular Black Sharpie would work just fine. Paint pens can be a pain--gotta shake it up, prime it, etc. Where would you have him sign? I would think the thumb, just below the seam would be the best place--you can display it easily, he can sign it easily,--or if you want to display it open, then I would go with along the top of the fingers. Looks like a nice large, smooth area to sign there. Post some pics when it's a done deal!

I had this signed about 6 years ago in silver paint pen and it has held up pretty well:
