For me I'm thinking 06 A&G.

08 topps sterling jumbo patches were nice but kinda out of reach of the common man.

you?

05 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia

06 Allen & Ginter to a smaller extent

I'm actually really looking forward to 09 Goodwin Champions, the artwork and preview cards in UD look fantastic!

For the past few years

2009 - Topps Chrome (so far)
2008 - Elite Extra (loaded with good autos)
2007 - BDP (love the look and card selection, although the autos could have been better)
2006 - BDP (Longoria & Kershaw)
2005 - Topps Chrome Update & BDP & Absolute Playoff (its a three way tie, Chromes both had great prospect cards and good autos; Absolute for the Patches and HOF stuff)

I loved busting 08 EEE...but from an asthetic standpoint, probably nothing since '05 Absolute and '04 LCM.

For a set to be impressive it has to be better than its been in previous years and better than the average release as well.

As others have noted, the recent Chrome released also impressed me, although I also enjoyed last year's.

I almost said that I thought UDx looked kinda good but I haven't actually picked any up myself.

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Goodwin's set, might be my first box of 09.

2005 stuff...I really can't think of anything overwhelming after that. I mean 2005 had so many great looking and collectible sets. Finest, BC, TC, Sweet Spot, Reflections, Artifacts, Origins, Absolute, LCM...the list goes on. I am going by my player collecting ways as well. 2009 Finest I really liked.

2009 Allen and Ginter - the first Allen and Ginter I've really enjoyed.

2005/06 Topps Update - really fun for retail breaking.

2006 Finest - simple base design, refractors, and Bonds/Mantle refractors.

2005 Reflections - great dual autographs and dual GU..

2005 Upper Deck Artifacts was the last product that I went ga-ga for. Realy fun card, autos, jersey... The whole package was sweet and price was decent.

I hate UD, but these were nice cards. In fact, two of my favorite Hafner cards I have are from this set.

And to top it off...I'm seriously contemplating picking up some of the '09-'10 Hockey Artifacts!! Just got a box of '08-'09 yesterday and hit a sweet dual patch card.

...ugh...I hate UD!!!!

man, you had to mention 06 Ginter first? I can't think of any product perhaps some of the older heritage
or archives set that has had more bang for the buck for under 5 a pack. Heck 06 Ginter beats most
100+ pack products.

09 Ginter was impressive, not on the same level as 06, but anything looks better compared to the
past two releases. 09 Topps Chrome as decent but only because products today are so watered down. Keep in
mind that UD and topps don't spend a lot on these prospects. When is the last time guys like Chipper and Pujols
appeared in an autograph checklist?

2005 BCDP is hard to beat. I think that set actually refrained me from complaining. Imagine that. :D

Nothing released since 2005 BCDP has made me buy cases, although I think 2007 Donruss Elite was stacked with quality rookies.
