What do you see happening in the card world if both the NBA and NFL lockout and no games are played? Do you think NHL and MLB cards will see a spike?
Will football and basketball cards drop? Thoughts?

If I am correct, the card manufactures are still producing cards for those sports.

Other than that, I don't know. I can see where baseball spikes though.

What happens with the cards in 2 years? They have stats for every year they have played and a --------- for 2011-2012?

i see a drop in rookies if theres a lockout, especially if it lasts all season. because by the time there are games, the next crop of rookies will be ready. would be a good time to stock up on them i think, b/c interest will return when they have big games.

when the NHL lost their season because of the lockout, the card manufacturers didnt release any new products only "vintage" and retired releases. when hockey resumed the stats on the back just bypassed the lost year. it went from 2003-04 to 2005-06 with no mention of 2004-05. the 05-06 releases had a double crop of rookies in them when caused boxes and cases to skyrocket becuase there was sid and ovie in all products.

Thats crazy about ovy and Crosby! Imagine if Harpers 1st bowman auto and strasburgs 1st bowman auto were in the same year. (Last year during StrasburgMania)

NFL will get a deal done in the coming weeks, the NBA doesn't look very optimistic, but there is quite a bit of time to try and work something out.
