I've had nothing but pleasant experiences every time I've met Butler at a game. Always nice, always signs. I'd love to get more time, but understand that he's very much into game prep. Maybe next season I'll stick around longer after the game and try to catch him as he's walking down the right field line on the way to the team bus.

Would I continue to collect him if he wasn't a good dude? Probably not, but then that little fact would have revealed itself early in his playing career and I most likely wouldn't have ever started a collection.

I collect a player (Biggio) because of how he was as a player, and the fact that I grew up watching him. It's not anything to do with him as a person, because I'll never get a true enough sample size to judge that.

If I ever get the chance to meet him, it would probably be at a signing or sporting event, which is not really "being themselves". Too much going on around them and stuck in that robotic state.

I collect because of the memories of the actual sport and how it made me model myself as a ballplayer.

i have been lucky enough to meet bernie several times. hes very active in the comunity, food banks, churches and hospitals. a very humble greatful nice guy.
hes just a cool guy.

Well, if that happened I wouldn't be all that suprised (Schilling). But yeah, I'd keep collecting him.
